This article proposes an alternative conceptualisation and operationalisation of international marketing agility as a higher-order dynamic capability constituting overseas market-sensing decision-making flexibility and international marketing adaptability. The international marketing agility – new technology adoption relationship was examined under the moderating effects of new technology relative advantage and complexity among a sample of 162 small and medium sized enterprises (SME) exporters in Thailand, where new internet-enabled inventory management systems were being promoted. The self-administered survey data were analysed using multiple-group structural equation modelling. Results reveal that new technology adoption is driven by higher-level competencies such as international marketing agility, which develops, integrates and reconfigures resources through the three first-order capabilities to enable SME exporters to cope with volatile environments. Such adoption is enhanced by SME exporter perceptions of internet-enabled inventory management system’s relative advantage, but is otherwise diminished by perceptions of its complexity. These findings provide important implications for policymakers and technology vendors responsible for securing adoption by SMEs in emerging markets.

PurposeThis research identifies the supply chain performance indices and designs an evaluation framework to assess and compare the Indian petroleum supply chain performance. We presented a case study of three Indian petroleum companies. For this purpose, we identified fifteen performance criteria extracted from previous literature and expert inputs and classified them into four groups.Design/methodology/approachA fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) method is employed for evaluating the performance of the Indian petroleum supply chain.FindingsThe design and evaluation framework suggests that the top three performance measurement criteria, the purity of the products, compliance with environmental laws, and new technology adoption. The result findings also indicate that company C contributes to a maximum satisfaction level of 77%. Simultaneously, companies A and B hold satisfaction levels of 72% and 67%.Practical implicationsThe managers should ensure that environmental standards, new technology adoption, and quality are significant concerns in the petroleum supply chain. The managers should follow national and international policies to preserve the environment and ensure safety in operational activities.Originality/valueThis paper makes two contributions in the domain of performance measurement of the petroleum supply chain. First, it identifies the prominent supply chain performance indices. Second, it proposes a model to assess and compare the performance of Indian petroleum companies.

Market turbulence with fiscal investment influences has altered IT infrastructure performance as business pursue extravagant new technology adoption. Yet, few studies have examined how shareware solution goes beyond Medium Size Enterprise that pushes efficiency and sustainability. This PLS-SEM integrated with dual primary compilation approach lessens shallow perceptions coupled with outlooks that streamline each phenomenal activity that is worthy of the necessity for competitive innovation. This unified model was applied to sampling respondents and analyzed using an ordinal regression relationship that generates a robust association that triggers the hypothesis acceptance. The adopting of BOINC shareware mesh network towards unified processing designs that were employed to build the yield by promising financial possibility using coordinated interworks hence improved group accomplishment and establishing greater esteem. This paper showcases a flexible inner IT infrastructure alongside the economic uncertainty with the framework advancement for Exostructure as a Service. Associated theoretical and practical implications were discussed.

Healthcare costs are escalating due to public demand for, and the increasing availability of, treatment. National frameworks that use economic evaluation as a basis for health technology assessment have been successful at constraining expenditure on low-value treatments primarily by explicitly considering the opportunity cost of new technology adoption or service redesign. At the end of life and in palliative contexts, such methods have not been widely applied and are underdeveloped despite evidence that healthcare costs typically increase with proximity to death. There may be a requirement for the adaptation of standard methods for healthcare resource allocation in this setting, where the goals of care may differ from a curative or preventative context. Health service and financing models may be complex and specific to this setting, with a greater consideration for third-sector provision and informal care. This chapter outlines the core concepts in health economics that are relevant in the planning of palliative services, with specific considerations in the developed and developing world contexts.

Small and mid-size enterprises (SME) are considered the backbone of developing economies in terms of reducing poverty and unemployment. Although most SMEs are still reluctant in new technology adoption, such as cloud computing, some benefited from the services provided by cloud technology. This study aims to assess the performance evaluation of small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) regarding the usage of cloud computing in their activities. The quantitative study was conducted on a sample of 112 respondents employed in Turkish SMEs. A research model is utilized based on performance specific scales. Results signified cloud technology’s positive impact on business performance.

The diffusion of fully automated vehicles (AVs), or self-driving vehicles, is expected to provide many affordances for older adults. If older adults are not willing to use AVs, they will not be able to reap these affordances. Understanding factors related to older adults’ willingness to use AVs is key to ensuring that successful strategies can be devised to promote their utilization in the future. In this study, we investigate U.S. older adults’ willingness to use AVs among a large and diverse sample ( N = 1,231). We assessed sociodemographic, population density, health, and attitudinal determinants of willingness to use AVs. Our binary logistic regression results showed that older adults with higher levels of educational attainment, transportation limitations, and positive attitudes toward new technology adoption were more likely to be willing to use AVs. Our study indicates that older adults’ willingness to use AVs are complex and vary among U.S. older adults. Practical implications and study limitations are discussed.

Limiting global warming to 1.5°C requires far-reaching transformations across power generation, buildings, industry, transport, land use, coastal zone management, and agriculture, as well as the immediate scale-up of technological carbon removal and climate finance. This report translates these transitions into 40 targets for 2030 and 2050, with measurable indicators. Transformations, particularly those driven by new technology adoption, often unfold slowly before accelerating after crossing a tipping point. Nearly a quarter of indicators assessed new technology adoption, with some already growing exponentially. This report considers such nonlinear change in its methodology. The transitions required to avoid the worst climate impacts are not happening fast enough. Of the 40 indicators assessed, none are on track to reach 2030 targets. Change is heading in the right direction at a promising but insufficient speed for 8 and in the right direction but well below the required pace for 17. Progress has stagnated for 3, while change for another 3 is heading in the wrong direction entirely. Data are insufficient to evaluate the remaining 9. This report also identifies underlying conditions that enable change—supportive policies, innovations, strong institutions, leadership, and shifts in social norms. Finance for climate action, for example, must increase nearly 13-fold to meet the estimated need in 2030.
