Power system facility calibration is a compulsory task that requires in-site operations. In this work, we propose a remote calibration device that incorporates edge intelligence so that the required calibration can be accomplished with little human intervention. Our device entails a wireless serial port module, a Bluetooth module, a video acquisition module, a text recognition module, and a message transmission module. First, the wireless serial port is used to communicate with edge node, the Bluetooth is used to search for nearby Bluetooth devices to obtain their state information and the video is used to monitor the calibration process in the calibration lab. Second, to improve the intelligence, we propose a smart meter reading method in our device that is based on artificial intelligence to obtain information about calibration meters. We use a mini camera to capture images of calibration meters, then we adopt the Efficient and Accurate Scene Text Detector (EAST) to complete text detection, finally we built the Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network (CRNN) to complete the recognition of the meter data. Finally, the message transmission module is used to transmit the recognized data to the database through Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP). Our device solves the problem that some calibration meters cannot return information, thereby improving the remote calibration intelligence.

Abstract Remote calibration has the property of real-time and remote location, and can be used to control the calibration method for the calibration instrument. It is an effective method to improve the calibration efficiency. Based on the torque sensor calibration method for research, because the remote calibration technology has complex structure, calibration are not allowed to wait for a characteristic, through the remote technology combined with a torque sensor automatic calibration technology, analyze the torque sensor remote calibration technology research, which not only can improve the traditional calibration technology cycle is long, low efficiency of faults. Remote calibration technology based on the basic methods and characteristics are studied, by using the method of torque meter calibration, according to the characteristics of torque sensor, choose corresponding calibration program and method, which can effectively improve the technical problems in the process of system design and analysis of torque sensor remote calibration method research, in addition, through the analysis of electromagnetic interference technology research, which can restrain the interference is proposed; Finally, the remote calibration technology of the torque sensor is effectively improved through the calibration experiment of the system debugging.

National Measurement Standards-National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (SNSU-BSN) as the National Metrology Institute of Indonesia has provided time and frequency calibration services for customers. Time and frequency equipment should be calibrated to traceable to the SI units. The calibration process can be carried out in a calibration laboratory. However, some measuring devices cannot be sent to the calibration laboratory. One of the devices that cannot be sent to the calibration laboratory is Cesium atomic clock. It must be calibrated to get the time difference with the local coordinated universal time (UTC), namely UTC(IDN). Therefore, to calibrate the Cesium atomic clock, a remote calibration method is needed. The remote system is also intended to conduct the calibration more effectively and efficiently. This method requires two Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver devices placed on the client-side and a calibration laboratory. For this reason, an algorithm for remote calibration has been developed. The algorithm has been tested to calibrate Cesium-3 of SNSU-BSN against UTC(IDN). The time difference between Cesium-3 and UTC(IDN) was 5.8 microseconds by using the algorithm. Based on the algorithm that has been built, it was concluded that the algorithm can be used to perform remote calibration for the related customer.
