In general multiple paths are covered by multiple runs which is a time consuming task. Now a days, metaheuristic techniques are widely used for path coverage. In order to reduce the time, an efficient method is proposed based on Forest Optimization Algorithm (FOA) with Metamorphic Relations (MRs) that cover multiple paths at a time in one run unlike the traditional search based testing. In the proposed approach, initial test case is generated using FOA, the successive test cases are generated using MRs without undergoing several runs. The motive of using FOA is that the searching mechanism of this algorithm having resemblance with the branch / path coverage techniques of testing. To the best of our knowledge, FOA has not been implemented in software testing. The experimental results are compared with three existing work. The efficiency of simply FOA is also shown how it able to cover multiple paths. The results show that FOA with MRs is more efficient in terms of time consumption and number of paths covered.

Automatic robotic inspection of arbitrary free-form shapes is relevant for many quality control applications in different industries. We propose a method for planning the motion of an industrial robot to perform ultrasonic inspection of varying 3D shapes. Our method starts with the calculation of a set of sub-paths. These sub-paths are derived from streamlines. The underlying vector field is deduced from local curvature of the inspected geometry. Intermediate robot motions are planned to connect individual sub-paths to obtain a single complete inspection path. Coverage is calculated via ray tracing to simulate the propagation of ultrasound signals. This simulation enables the algorithm to proceed adaptively and to find a good trade-off between path length and coverage. We report experiments for four different geometries. The results indicate that shorter paths are achieved by using ray tracing for adaptive adjustment of streamline density. Our algorithm is tailored to ultrasonic inspection. However, the main concept of exploiting local surface curvature and streamlines for coverage path planning generalizes to other robotic inspection problems.

In order to overcome the problems of low detection probability, low coverage uniformity and low coverage of current path coverage enhancement methods in wireless sensor networks, a new path coverage enhancement method based on CVT model is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the node perception model and network coverage model are constructed. On the basis of the node awareness model and network coverage model, CVT model is used to adjust the connection mode, density and location of nodes in wireless sensor networks, so as to improve the coverage performance of nodes in the detection area in wireless sensor networks, and realize the effective enhancement of path coverage in wireless sensor networks. Experimental results show that, compared with the traditional methods, the proposed method has high detection probability, high coverage uniformity and coverage rate, and the highest coverage rate reaches 97%, which has higher practical application performance.

Adoption of distributed stream processing (DSP) systems such as Apache Flink in real-time big data processing is increasing. However, DSP programs are prone to be buggy, especially when one programmer neglects some DSP features (e.g., source data reordering), which motivates development of approaches for testing and verification. In this paper, we focus on the test data generation problem for DSP programs. Currently, there is a lack of an approach that generates test data for DSP programs with both high path coverage and covering different stream reordering situations. We present a novel solution, SPOT (i.e., Stream Processing Program Test), to achieve these two goals simultaneously. At first, SPOT generates a set of individual test data representing each path of one DSP program through symbolic execution. Then, SPOT composes these independent data into various time series data (a.k.a, stream) in diverse reordering. Finally, we can perform a test by feeding the DSP program with these streams continuously. To automatically support symbolic analysis, we also developed JPF-Flink, a JPF (i.e., Java Pathfinder) extension to coordinate the execution of Flink programs. We present four case studies to illustrate that: (1) SPOT can support symbolic analysis for the commonly used DSP operators; (2) test data generated by SPOT can more efficiently achieve high JDU (i.e., Joint Dataflow and UDF) path coverage than two recent DSP testing approaches; (3) test data generated by SPOT can more easily trigger software failure when comparing with those two DSP testing approaches; and (4) the data randomly generated by those two test techniques are highly skewed in terms of stream reordering, which is measured by the entropy metric. In comparison, it is even for test data from SPOT.

Under “the Belt and Road” initiative, China promoted cooperation between domestic enterprises and international ports vigorously, which brought back fruitful results, while the rational selection of strategic pivots ports and the optimization of the layout of the port network are important guarantees to a further promotion to the economic development of “the Belt and Road” ports and give full play to the driving and radiation role of strategic pivots ports. On the basis of constructing a network of 155 ports in the world, according to the number of ports crossed by the shortest path and betweenness centrality in the network, this paper uses K-Medoids clustering algorithm to train the strategic importance of ports and verifies the reliability of the analysis results. On this basis, the joint coverage analysis of strategically important ports is carried out, 17 ports are identified as strategic pivots ports of the global port network, and, finally, based on the two attributes of “the Belt and Road” and “Chinese enterprise participation” of strategic pivots ports, the leading role of strategic pivots ports in geographical location, path coverage, development potential, cooperation stability, and control is analyzed, and instructive suggestions are put forward.

Summary Correlation of the coda of Empirical Green's functions from ambient noise can be used to reconstruct Empirical Green's function between two seismic stations deployed different periods of time. However, such method requires a number of source stations deployed in the area surrounding a pair of asynchronous stations, which limit its applicability in cases where there are not so many available source stations. Here, we propose an alternative method, called two-station C2 method, which uses one single station as a virtual source to retrieve surface wave phase velocities between a pair of asynchronous stations. Using ambient noise data from USArray as an example, we obtain the interstation C2 functions using our C2 method and the traditional cross-correlation functions (C1 functions). We compare the differences between the C1 and C2 functions in waveforms, dispersion measurements, and phase velocity maps. Our results show that our C2 method can obtain reliable interstation phase velocity measurements, which can be used in tomography to obtain reliable phase velocity maps. Our method can significantly improve ray path coverage from asynchronous seismic arrays and enhance the resolution in ambient noise tomography for areas between asynchronous seismic arrays.

ABSTRACT The Global Seismographic Network (GSN) is a multiuse, globally distributed seismic network used by seismologists, to both characterize earthquakes and study the Earth’s interior. Most stations in the network have two collocated broadband seismometers, which enable network operators to identify potential metadata and sensor issues. In this study, we investigate the accuracy with which surface waves can be measured across the GSN, by comparing waveforms of vertical-component Rayleigh waves from Mw 6 and larger events between collocated sensor pairs. We calculate both the amplitude deviation and correlation coefficient between waveforms at sensor pairs. In total, we make measurements on over 670,000 event–station pairs from events that occurred from 1 January 2010 to 1 January 2020. We find that the average sensor-pair amplitude deviation, and, therefore, GSN calibration level, is, approximately, 4% in the 25–250 s period band. Although, we find little difference in sensor-pair amplitude deviations as a function of period across the entire network, the amount of useable data decreases rapidly as a function of increasing period. For instance, we determined that just over 12% of records at 250 s period provided useable recordings (e.g., sensor-pair amplitude deviations of less than 20% and sensor-pair correlation greater than 0.95). We then use these amplitude-estimate deviations to identify how data coverage and quality could be limiting our ability to invert for whole Earth 3D attenuation models. We find an increase in the variance of our attenuation models with increasing period. For example, our degree 12 attenuation inversion at 250 s period shows 32% more variance than our degree 12 attenuation model at 25 s. This indicates that discrepancies of deep-mantle tomography between studies could be the result of these large uncertainties. Because these high uncertainties arise from limited, high-quality observations of long-period (>100  s) surface waves, improving data quality at remote GSN sites could greatly improve ray-path coverage, and facilitate more accurate and higher resolution models of deep Earth structure.
