Ag-based quantum dots (QDs) are semiconductor nanomaterials with exclusive electrooptical properties ideally adaptable for various biotechnological, chemical, and medical applications. Silver-based semiconductor nanocrystals have developed rapidly over the past decades. They have become a promising luminescent functional material for in vivo and in vitro fluorescent studies due to their ability to emit at the near-infrared (NIR) wavelength. In this review, we discuss the basic features of Ag-based QDs, the current status of classic (chemical) and novel methods (“green” synthesis) used to produce these QDs. Additionally, the advantages of using such organisms as bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, algae, and plants for silver-based QDs biosynthesis have been discussed. The application of silver-based QDs as fluorophores for bioimaging application due to their fluorescence intensity, high quantum yield, fluorescent stability, and resistance to photobleaching has also been reviewed.

In particular interactions due to organic-inorganic molecules results self assembled structures organize supramolecular structures for molecular, electronic and electrooptical properties. Supramolecular structures originated are complexes with organic (p-azoxyanisole) molecule, synthesized with metal nanoparticles (iron, copper and aluminium.) Spectroscopic studies interpret infrared spectra with wavenumbers of characteristic bands in assigned regions; wavenumbers with reduced intensity in Raman spectra attribute metal-organic framework with charge transfer. Designed frame work with dense participation of carriers interpret electron correlation and exchange interaction specifying molecular, electronic and electrooptical properties with Gaussian package using electron density method. Deterministic procedure attribute vital role of charge transfer interactions responsible in formation of complex with improvement in properties responsible for electrooptical activity.

Liquid crystals act on the amplitude and the phase of a wave front under applied electric fields. Ordinary LCs are known as field induced birefringence, thus both phase and amplitude modulation strongly depend on the voltage controllable molecular tilt. In this work we present electrooptical properties of novel liquid crystal (LC) mixture with frequency tunable capabilities from 100Hz to 10 KHz at constant applied voltage. The frequency tunability of presented mixtures shown here came from composition of three different families of rodlike liquid crystals. Dielectric measurements are reported for the compounds constituting frequency-controlled birefringence liquid crystal. Characterization protocols allowing the optimum classification of different components of this mixture, paying attention to all relevant parameters such as anisotropic polarizability, dielectric anisotropy, and dipole moment are presented.
