The present work is devoted to the study of the solvability questions for a nonlocal problem with an integrodifferential conjugation condition for a fourth-order mixed-type equation with a generalized RiemannLiouville operator. Under certain conditions on the given parameters and functions, we prove the theorems of uniqueness and existence of the solution to the problem. In the paper, given example indicates that if these conditions are violated, the formulated problem will have a nontrivial solution. To prove uniqueness and existence theorems of a solution to the problem, the method of separation of variables is used. The solution to the problem is constructed as a sum of an absolutely and uniformly converging series in eigenfunctions of the corresponding one-dimensional spectral problem. The Cauchy problem for a fractional equation with a generalized integro-differentiation operator is studied. A simple method is illustrated for finding a solution to this problem by reducing it to an integral equation equivalent in the sense of solvability. The authors of the article also establish the stability of the solution to the considered problem with respect to the nonlocal condition.

In this paper, we develop a numerical method for the solution of nonlinear fractional integral equations (NFIEs) based on Haar wavelet collocation technique (HWCT). Under certain conditions, we also prove the uniqueness and existence as well as Hyers–Ulam (HU) stability of the solution. With the help of the mentioned technique, the considered problem is transformed to a system of algebraic equations which is then solved for the required results by using Broyden algorithm. To check the validation and convergence of the proposed technique, some examples are given. For different number of collocation points (CPs), maximum absolute and mean square root errors are computed. The results show that for solving these equations, the HWCT is effective. The convergence rate is also measured for different CPs, which is nearly equal to [Formula: see text].

В работе исследована краевая задача со смещением для гиперболического уравнения третьего порядка, которая содержит производную в граничных условиях. Доказана теорема единственности и существования регулярного решения исследуемой задачи. The paper investigates a boundary value problem with a shift for a third-order hyperbolic equation, which contains a derivative in the boundary conditions. A uniqueness and existence theorem for a regular solution of the problem under study is proved.

В настоящей работе доказывается единственность и существование решения задачи Коши для интегро-дифференциального уравнения, связанного с перидинамической моделью механики твёрдого тела с двумя пространственными переменными. In this paper the uniqueness and existence of a solution of Cauchy problem for an integro-differential equation associated with a peridynamic model of solid mechanics in a two-dimensional domain are proved.

We study the existence and uniqueness of solutions for integro-differential equations involving two fractional orders. By using the Banach’s fixed point theorem, Leray-Schauder’s nonlinear alternative and Leray-Schauder’s degree theory, the existence and uniqueness of solutions are obtained. Some illustrative examples are also presented.

In this study, the diarrhoea model is developed based on basic mathematical modelling techniques leading to a system (five compartmental model) of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Mathematical analysis of the model is then carried out on the uniqueness and existence of the model to know the region where the model is epidemiologically feasible. The equilibrium points of the model and the stability of the disease-free state were also derived by finding the reproduction number. We then progressed to running a global sensitivity analysis on the reproduction number with respect to all the parameters in it, and four (4) parameters were found sensitive. The work was concluded with numerical simulations on Maple 18 using Runge-Kutta method of order four (4) where the values of six (6) parameters present in the model were each varied successively while all other parameters were held constant so as to know the behaviour and effect of the varied parameter on how diarrhoea spreads in the population. The results from the sensitivity analysis and simulations were found to be in sync.

AbstractIn this paper, we study the uniqueness and existence of the solution of a non-autonomous and nonsingular delay difference equation using the well-known principle of contraction from fixed point theory. Furthermore, we study the Hyers–Ulam stability of the given system on a bounded discrete interval and then on an unbounded interval. An example is also given at the end to illustrate the theoretical work.

AbstractWe apply the technique of convex integration to obtain non-uniqueness and existence results for power-law fluids, in dimension $$d\ge 3$$ d ≥ 3 . For the power index q below the compactness threshold, i.e. $$q \in (1, \frac{2d}{d+2})$$ q ∈ ( 1 , 2 d d + 2 ) , we show ill-posedness of Leray–Hopf solutions. For a wider class of indices $$q \in (1, \frac{3d+2}{d+2})$$ q ∈ ( 1 , 3 d + 2 d + 2 ) we show ill-posedness of distributional (non-Leray–Hopf) solutions, extending the seminal paper of Buckmaster & Vicol [10]. In this wider class we also construct non-unique solutions for every datum in $$L^2$$ L 2 .

AbstractWe consider the mixed problem with boundary and initial data in thermoelasticity of porous bodies with dipolar structure. By generalizing some known results developed by Dafermos in a more simple case of the classical theory of elasticity, we prove new theorems in which we address the issues regarding the uniqueness and existence of a solution with finite energy of the respective problem after we define this type of solution.

In this paper, we study an epidemic model with Atangana-Baleanu-Caputo fractional derivative. We obtain a special solution using an iterative scheme via Laplace transformation. Uniqueness and existence of a solution using the Banach fixed point theorem are studied. A detailed analysis of the stability of the special solution is presented. Finally, our generalized model in the derivative sense is solved numerically by the Adams-Bashforth-Moulton method.
