Abstract The article presents original methodology of testing the moisture content of brick walls in buildings. It was developed on the basis of own experience acquired during testing the moisture content in many excessively wet buildings erected in various historical periods. The tests were conducted using different methods, including non-destructive methods. To emphasize the importance of the problem, an overview of the methodology was preceded by a brief presentation of the causes and negative effects of excessive moisture and salinity in brick walls. In addition, the article is illustrated with an example of the effects of moisture content tests carried out according to the developed methodology on a facility from the fourteenth century. According to the author, knowledge of the presented methodology, and its application, should contribute to both the improvement of the quality of conducted research and the credibility of the obtained results.

This paper focuses on comparing two discordancy tests between robust and non-robust statistic to detect a single outlier in univariate circular data. So far, to the best author knowledge that there is no literature make a comparison between both tests of RCDu Statistic and 𝐺1 Statistic. The test statistics are based on the circular median and spacing theory. In addition, those statistics can detect multiple and patches outliers. The performance tests of RCDu Statistic and 𝐺1 Statistic are tested in outlier proportion of correct detection, masking and swamping effect. At the beginning stage, we obtained the cut-off points for the RCDu Statistic and 𝐺1 Statistic by applying Monte Carlo simulation studies. Then, generated sample from von Mises (VM) with the combination of sample size and concentration parameter. The estimating process of cut-off points for both statistics is repeated 3000 times at 10%, 5% and 1% upper percentiles. As a result, the RCDu Statistic perform well in detecting a correct single outlier. Moreover, the RCDu Statistic has a lower masking rate compared to 𝐺1 Statistic. However, the 𝐺1 Statistic is better than RCDu Statistic for swamping effect due to a lower swamping rate. Thus, RCDu Statistic performs better than 𝐺1 Statistic in detecting a single outlier for von Mises (VM) sample. As an illustration, both statistics were applied to the real data set from a conducted experiments series to investigate the northen cricket frogs homing ability.

Purpose: The aim of the paper is to analyze the role of museums as specific entities of the cultural market in shaping the region brand. Methodology: The paper presents the results of a case study and desk research, regarding the role of museums in building the image of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, supplemented with selected results of quantitative and qualitative own research. Findings: The analysis showed that increasing the role of museums in building the region brand is in the best interest of both parties and that there are many cooperation methods for museums and regions that bring real benefits. Practical implications: Looking for a model of cooperation that will be beneficial for both the region and museums and their brands is therefore crucial. Originality/value: According to the author knowledge, the paper is one of the very first attempts to identify the role of museums in creating the region brand.

The main purpose of the current study is to examine customer satisfaction, atmospheric and customer behaviour using SOR model. In addition to that, the study has examined the mediating role of customer satisfaction in the relationship between Atmospherics on Customer Behaviour. In recent Past, the main focus for the organizations was to identify the factors that can help in enhancing the loyalty of the customers. Additionally, their focus is also on delivering superior services by which they can keep the customers loyal. The study is of the view that the organizationsmake these efforts with desires to keep these customers retain, which will help them in increasing the profits and revenues. However, the current study has filled this gap. However, this study is among the pioneering studies on this issue Employing the survey-based methodology; the SEM-PLS technique is used to test the hypothesized relationships. So, the current study has used SEM-PLS as a statistical tool to answer the research questions raised in this study and research objectives envisaged in the current study. The data is collected from the SPA customers in Thailand. The findings of the study have provided support to the theoretical foundation and the proposed hypothesis of the current study. The current study will be helpful for policymakers and practitioners in understanding the issues work customer satisfaction, atmospheric and customer behaviour using SOR model. In author knowledge, this is among very few pioneering studies on this issue.

AbstractAscaridia galli (Schrank, 1788) is a common parasite of various galliform birds worldwide. Although A. galli has been extensively studied by many author, knowledge of the morphology of this species in detail is still insufficient. In the present paper, the detailed morphology of A. galli was further studied using light and scanning electron microscopy, based on specimens collected from the endangered green peafowl Pavo muticus Linnaeus (Galliformes: Phasianidae) in China. The results revealed some erroneous and previously unreported morphological features, including the lips lacking real denticles, the lateral alae beginning at some distance posterior to the base of the ventrolateral lips and the caudal papillae with 4 different morphotypes. The present morphological and morphometric data complement previous descriptions and enable us to recognize this species more precisely.

Abstract:This study evaluates inter-author variability in knowledge base construction. Seven board-certified internists independently profiled “acute perinephric abscess”, using as reference material a set of 109 peer-reviewed articles. Each participant created a list of findings associated with the disease, estimated the predictive value and sensitivity of each finding, and assessed the pertinence of each article for making each judgment. Agreement in finding selection was significantly different from chance: seven, six, and five participants selected the same finding 78.6, 9.8, and 1.6 times more often than predicted by chance. Findings with the highest sensitivity were most likely to be included by all participants. The selection of supporting evidence from the medical literature was significantly related to each physician’s agreement with the majority. The study shows that, with appropriate guidance, physicians can reproducibly extract information from the medical literature, and thus established a foundation for multi-author knowledge base construction.
