Seasonal, annual and interannual variations of Ozone Mixing Ratio (OMR) have been studied for 12 years, from balloonsondes and Ozonesondes that were launched over Costa Rica (10oN, 83.4oW), a tropical station, as part of Southern Hemisphere Additional Ozonesondes (SHADOZ) network. It was found that near tropopause region there exists prominent peak of OMR during July month for most of the years. Lomb-Scargle Periodogram (LSP) analysis has been applied for the years 2005-2017 to identify the wave activities and found that Quasi Biennial Oscillations (QBO) with period of 2-2.5 years and even higher period oscillations of 3-4 years are prominent in middle troposphere and lower stratosphere regions which could cause large annual variabilities of OMR fluctuations. Fluctuations of OMR were subjected to Morlet wavelet transform over a year, 2008, to study seasonal variabilities. The wavelet analysis confirm that Madden Julian Oscillations (MJO) with periods 49-60 days are prominent during summer near tropopuase and in lower stratosphere regions, while lower period equatorial Kelvin waves of 14-20 days periods dominate during winter and spring in troposphere region, which could be responsible for maximum seasonal variability.

ABSTRACT Priming is an alternative to improve the performance of seeds that have germination problems, such as Urochloa brizantha seeds. This study aimed at evaluating the appropriate hydration period and chemical agents used for priming, via direct immersion, in the physiological quality and carbohydrate content of U. brizantha seeds. The experimental design was completely randomized, in a 3 x 4 factorial arrangement, with four replicates of each treatment, consisting of lower, median and higher hydration periods, in the phase II of the absorption curve, and agents used for priming: water, gibberellin, sucrose and antioxidant (riboflavin). Germination and vigor tests were carried out, as well as carbohydrate contents determination, in the seeds. It was observed that seeds hydrated in the lower period show higher physiological potential. Priming with gibberellin provides a greater seedling emergence, and with sucrose higher carbohydrate contents.

AIM: The study aim is to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of thrombolytic treatment in acute MI comparing with anticoagulants therapy and between each other thrombolytic (SK, r-Pa).MATERIAL AND METHODS: We used a prospective registry of all patients admitted for acute myocardial infarction in intensive care units in Tirana. The average drugs cost was calculated for the hospitalization period in Albanian money (ALL). Survival and life quality were estimated by phone contact 1 year after acute MI.RESULTS: Anticoagulant group cost is 23865.3 ALL (170.5€), SK group cost is 54148.63 ALL (386.7€), r-Pa group has a cost of 92184.90 ALL (658.5€). In the group treated with SK the hospital survival is 100%, while in the control group 88.8%. Reteplase group has a lower period of stay in hospital than SK group 13.04 days vs. 17.97 days, mean age in group treated with r-Pa is 64.29 ± 10.03 approximate with anticoagulant group mean age 64.17 ± 11.08; differ significantly with SK group mean age 56.75 ± 10.04. Survival after 1 year was 96.4% for r-Pa and 96.9% SK.CONCLUSIONS: SK and r-Pa are successful thrombolytics with high effectiveness. It is gained a higher survival with the thrombolytic treatments. Reteplase is well tolerated in older patients than SK, is easier to apply than Streptokinase, but has higher cost.

AbstractWe present X-ray and optical observations of the ROSAT discovered polar (AM Her binary) RX J1015.5+0904 and first results of our analysis of the X-ray and optical data. These results indicate a one-pole accretion geometry and an orbital period of P = 79.88 m for this V ~ 17 mag system.

Induced templates for two members of Chua’s attractors: spiral-type and double-scroll chaotic attractors are computed using the orbits of lower period. The template describes the topological properties of periodic orbits embedded in the attractor. It is identified by a set of integers which characterize the attractor. The templates are confirmed by investigating orbits of higher period.
