In this study, the flow rate, velocity, head, and power in a designed and manufactured centrifugal water pump were studied and determined experimentally. The effect of the impeller with different blades on the centrifugal pump performance has been investigated. Three different impellers with 4, 5, and 6 blades are tested to determine the number of the optimum blades. The experimental results showed that the flow rate, velocity, heat, and power are higher for the case of the impeller with 6 blades than that for the two cases of 4 and 5 blades. The losses decrease by increasing the number of the blades due to the reduction of the secondary flow for a certain limit. The experimental results showed better centrifugal water pump performance when an impeller with 6 blades is used.

In recent times, the production of polyethylene ground plastics has increased markedly in the Philippines. However, current levels of their usage and disposal generate several environmental problems.  Recycling is one of the most important actions that are being made to reduce these impacts. The present study used polyethylene ground plastic wastes to investigate their possible use as plastic aggregate in concrete application. The shredded plastic wastes were used in concrete with partial replacement of ½ kg and 1kg by volume of conventional coarse aggregate. Three types of concrete specimens including one without plastic aggregate were used in the study for comparison. All the concrete specimens were tested for their different mechanical properties after a curing period of 28 days. Various physical properties of all aggregates and fresh concrete properties were also tested in the laboratory, these include pound per square inch (psi), Mega Pascal (MPa), Kilo Newton (KN), and the type of fracture. The test for psi, MPa, and kN resulted that concrete mixtures with 1kg ground plastic produced the best result among the three samples having 3150 Psi, 21.7 MPa, and 395.7 KN, respectively. Moreover, the specimens were loaded under a monotonic uniaxial compressive load up to failure by using MATEST hydraulic testing machine with the indicator of kN. The result showed that both standard mixtures of concrete and the standard mixture of concrete with ½ kg polyethylene ground plastic have a comparison infraction that has a result of an SW-Shear Wedge of Type 5, while the standard mixture of concrete with 1kg polyethylene ground plastic has a conical type of a fracture. Based on the several tests conducted, it is concluded that the standard concrete mixture with 1kg polyethylene ground plastic provided the best result compared to other specimens. Furthermore, the use of polyethylene ground plastic waste in the standard concrete mixture provides some advantages like on reduction of plastic wastes, prevention of environmental pollution, and energy saving.

The report begins by looking into the different digital transformation strategies of the Philippines from 1992 to 2022 from the different government databases. The study used the qualitative approach particularly the document analysis of public documents. Six strategic plans were reviewed namely: a) National Information Technology Plan for the 21st Century (1997) 1992 – 1998, b) e-Philippines Strategy Government Information Systems Plan (2000) 1998 – 2001, c) Philippine ICT roadmap 2006 – 2010, d) Philippine Digital Strategy of 2011-2016, e) Philippine e-Government Master plan of 2012, and the current f) Philippine digital transformation strategy 2022. The strategic plans focused on the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure development, transforming the government’s operations and policies online, direct digital engagement among citizens, ICT policies and laws, and bridging digital gaps. However, the policy developments of the government should recognize the interconnection between, digital literacy, availability of affordable connectivity, and ICT infrastructures.

The Rankine cycle is one example of vapor power cycles. One important application of it is in steam power plants. In this paper, a simple model of the steam power plant is designed to study the effect of increasing boiler's pressures (3, 4, 5, and 6 bar respectively) on the efficiency and the dryness friction of the Model. Properties of the important points in the cycle were calculated consequently the losses in the pump, the losses in the condenser, expansion of the working fluid through the turbine, and the heat transfer to the working fluid through the boiler were determined. From the results, it was found that with the increasing of the boiler's operating pressure the thermal efficiency of the model cycle increases due to a substantial increase in network. Thus net-effect is marked increases in the thermal efficiency of the cycle on account of these measures.

The effect of thermal cycling was carried out on steel bars (0.4 %C). A single run was performed at a lower temperature of 320C and an upper temperature of 5000C cooled in water and seawater. For several numbers of cycles up to 30 cycles for an accurate determination of heating and cooling times. The effect of thermal cycling on the corrosion rate was evaluated. The effect of thermal cycling on the following properties was evaluated the corrosion rate. The comparison between the effect of thermal cycling on carbon steel (0.4% C) seawater cooled (previous results, sea-water cooled [1]) and the effect of thermal cycling on carbon steel (0.4 C %) (in this manuscript, water-cooled) has been studied. From the obtained test results (previous and in this paper, it was found that the type of corrosion is uniform, the corrosion rate of the first stage gradually increases with the number of thermal cycling up to 15 cycles, then it takes steady-state up to 30 cycles. It was found that the rate of corrosion (previous results, seawater cooled) is more than (the results in this paper, water-cooled).

Assessing the accuracy of the classification map is an essential area in remote sensing digital image process. This is because a poorly classified map will result in inestimable errors of spatial analysis and modeling arising from the use of such data. This study was designed to evaluate different supervised classification algorithms in terms of accuracy assessment with a view of recommending an appropriate algorithm for image processing. The analysis was carried out using Andoni L.G.A. Rivers State, Nigeria as the study area. Supervised classification of ETM+ 2014 Landsat image of the study area was carried out using ENVI 5.0 software. Seven land use/land cover categories were identified on the image data and appropriate information classes were also assigned using region of interest. The classifiers adopted for the study include SAM, SVM, and MDC and each classifier was set using appropriate thresholds and parameters. The output error matrix of the classified map produced overall accuracy and kappa coefficient for MDC as 94.00% and 0.91, SAM as 64.45% and 0.53, and SVM as 98.92% and 0.98 respectively. The overall accuracy obtained from SVM indicates that a perfect classification map will be produced from the algorithm. The advanced supervised classification should be utilized for classification of land use/ land cover for both high and medium resolution images for improved classification accuracy.
