Abstract This paper addresses a gap in our understanding of medical history - the architecture of medical schools - and demonstrates the ways in which architectural form can be used to better understand medical epistemology and pedagogy. It examines an instructive case study - the late-nineteenth-century medical school buildings in Manchester - and examines the concepts that were drawn together and expressed in the buildings. Through its exploration, the paper argues first, that medical schools and spaces for medical education should be given greater consideration as a significant category in the history of medical buildings. Second, that buildings such as its case study are an important source of evidence and means to understand the role of medicine in society and the ideas with which its contemporary practitioners and educators were concerned. Third, the paper argues that, to make best use of buildings as sources, we should view them as agents which have assembled divergent ideas and incorporated them into the built form. In this way, such buildings have woven into them an inventory of ideas which can be untangled using designs and physical evidence.

<p>The study aims at investigate the level of individual learning in small and medium scale enterprises/SMEs as an important element in organizational knowledge, which will further determine the competitive advantage in SMEs. Using qualitative methodology, the study was empirically undertaken as a case study research with four SMEs in two major business sectors in Padang, West Sumatra - Indonesia. Owners-managers and employees were the informant of the study. Bloom’s taxonomy of individual learning was used as the cornerstone and thematic analysis to the result of in-depth interview was operated as the method of analysis. The study found that the level of learning in SMEs in the context of study is low. In affective and cognitive domains of individual learning, the study found that owners-manager and employees in SMEs in the context of study reached the level 1 (affective domain) and the level 2 (cognitive domain). This paper has value and originality in terms of the detailed empirical description of the level of learning in SMEs which is based on the interview with informants. Practically, results of this study can be used as an important academic consideration to assist the formulation of government interventions in the personal capacity building for SMEs.</p><p> </p><p><em>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan investigasi mengenai tingkat pembelajaran individu pada usaha kecil dan menengah/UKM sebagai elemen penting dalam pembentukan pengetahuan yang berkembang dalam organisasi, yang lebih lanjut akan menentukan daya saing UKM. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif dan secara empiris dilakukan melalui pendekatan case study pada pemilik-pengelola dan karyawan UKM pada dua sektor usaha di Padang, Indonesia. Taksonomi Bloom yang merupakan konsep utama dalam proses pembelajaran individu digunakan sebagai teori dasar dalam penelitian ini. Analisis tematik terhadap hasil interview lebih lanjut digunakan sebagai metoda analisis. Penelitian ini menemukan fakta rendahnya tingkat pembelajaran dalam UKM. Pada domain afektif maupun kognitif, pemilik-pengelola dan karyawan UKM pada konteks penelitian menunjukkan level 1 pada domain afektif dan level 2 pada domain kognitif. Artikel ini dinilai memiliki nilai dan orisinalitas terkait dengan temuan empiris secara detil mengenai tingkat pembelajaran individual dalam UKM. Secara praktis, hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai sebuah pertimbangan akademis penting untuk membantu proses penetapan formulasi intervensi pemerintah bagi program personal capacity building dalam UKM.</em></p>

AbstrakPenelitian terhadap kenyamanan termal dengan studi kasus bangunan sekolah dasar negeri dan penggunanya sangat penting untuk dilakukan, karena dengan adanya penelitian ini, akan diketahui bagaimana kenyamanan termal siswa sekolah dasar negeri yang berada dalam ruang kelas di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 02 Ulujami Pagi, Jakarta. Sehingga untuk kedepannya dapat diberikan rekomendasi perbaikan mengenai gedung sekolah yang dirasa nyaman bagi para siswa/i sehingga dapat mendukung proses belajar yang lebih baik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah kuantitatif dengan meneliti  pada populasi dan sampel tertentu menggunakan instrument Thermometer, Thermo-Hygrometer, Anemometer, dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian didapatkan suhu nyaman bagi siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri 02 Ulujami Pagi, Jakarta adalah 30,20ºC suhu udara (Ta). sedangkan rentang suhu nyaman antara -0,5 dan +0,5, dicapai antara 28,80ºC sampai 31,60 ºC suhu udara (Ta).Kata Kunci: kenyamanan termal, suhu bangunan, sekolah dasar AbstractResearch on thermal comfort with a case study of public elementary school buildings and its users is very important to do, because with this study, it will be known how the thermal comfort of public elementary school students who are in the classroom at Ulujami Pagi 02 Elementary School, Jakarta. So that in the future it can be given recommendations for improvements to school buildings that are felt comfortable for students so that they can support a better learning process. The method used in this writing is quantitative by examining the population and certain samples using a Thermometer, Thermo-Hygrometer, Anemometer, and questionnaire. The results of the study obtained a comfortable temperature for students of the State Elementary School 02 Ulujami Pagi, Jakarta is 30.20ºC air temperature (Ta). while the comfortable temperature range is between -0.5 and +0.5, reached between 28.80ºC to 31.60ºC air temperature (Ta).Keywords: thermal comfort, building temperature, elementary school
