Power rectifiers are very necessary in the wind power generation systems since they are the necessary channels that link the generator and power gird together. However, they have some effects on the permanent magnet wind generator due to their work on fast on-off transitions. Taking an 8kW 2000r/min wind-driven permanent magnet generator as an example, the system model and external circuit were established. Firstly, based on the field-circuit coupling calculation method, the voltage and current harmonics have been studied respectively when the generator was connected to rectifier loads and pure resistance loads, so did the total harmonic distortion. The mechanism of harmonic impacted by rectifiers was revealed. Secondly, combined the harmonic electromagnetic field theory, the stator core loss, armature winding copper loss and rotor eddy loss were analyzed when the generator connected different loads. Furthermore, according to the definition of nonlinear circuits PF, the numerical analysis method was adopted to calculate the power factor when the generator connected two loads respectively. The change mechanism of PF impacted by rectifiers has been revealed. In addition, the temperature field model has been established and the generator temperature was also analyzed. The temperature distributions were obtained when the wind generator was connected to different loads. Then, the relationship between losses and temperature was combined, the change rules of permanent magnet temperature by the eddy current loss were studied under different load. At last, it can prove that the rectifiers have influences on both electromagnetic field and temperature field through comparing the simulation results with experimental test data.

In this paper, a 15 KW in-wheel motor (IWM) is taken as the research object, and the coupling factors among the electromagnetic field, temperature field and flow field are analyzed, and the strong and weak coupling factors between the three fields are clarified, and by identifying the strong and weak coupling factors between the three fields, a three-field coupling analysis model for IWM with appropriate complexity is established, and the validity of the model is verified. In a certain driving condition, the electromagnetic field, temperature field and flow field characteristics of IWM are analyzed with the multi-field coupling model. The result shows that, after the IWM runs 8440 s under driving conditions, in this paper, the IWM electromagnetic torque of the rated working condition is 134.2 Nm, and IWM the electromagnetic torque of the peak working condition is 451.36 Nm, and the power requirement of the motor can be guaranteed. The highest temperature of the IWM is 150 °C, which does not exceed the insulation grade requirements of the motor (155 °C), the highest temperature of the permanent magnet (PM) is 65.6 °C, and it does not exceed the highest operating temperature of the PM, and ensures the accurate calculation of components loss and the temperature of the motor. It can be found, through research, that the electromagnetic torque difference between unidirectional coupling and bidirectional coupling is 3.2%, the maximum temperature difference is 7.98% in the three-field coupling analysis of IWM under rated working conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the influence of coupling factors on the properties of motor materials when analyzing the electromagnetic field, temperature field and flow field of IWM; it also provides some reference value for the simulation analysis of IWM in the future.

The influences of low frequency electromagnetic field on the as-cast structure of horizontal direct chill casting aluminum alloy slab were experimental and numerical studied. The results of numerical analysis show that the interaction of the low-frequency electromagnetic field and the melt can generate an electromagnetically induced forced flow in the melt, which, in turn, changes flow pattern and temperature field in the mold. the as-cast structure of slab can be greatly improved by the changes of flow pattern and temperature field. The results of experimental analysis show that the grains of low frequency electromagnetic casting (LFEC) are fine, uniform, equiaxed, rosette-shaped; the surface of the slab of LFEC has no cold shut and less exudations. Moreover, the low-frequency electromagnetic field can improve the distribution of solute elements in the slab. The macrosegregation such as negative segregation and gravity segregation were reduced, which results in the homogenous distributions of the solute elements over the cross-section of the slab.

Abstract In order to research the losses and heat of damper bars thoroughly, a multislice moving electromagnetic field-circuit coupling FE model of tubular hydro-generator and a 3D temperature field FE model of the rotor are built respectively. The factors such as rotor motion and non-linearity of the time-varying electromagnetic field, the stator slots skew, the anisotropic heat conduction of the rotor core lamination and different heat dissipation conditions on the windward and lee side of the poles are considered. Furthermore, according to the different operating conditions, different rotor structures and materials, compositive calculations about the losses and temperatures of the damper bars of a 36 MW generator are carried out, and the data are compared with the test. The results show that the computation precision is satisfied and the generator design is reasonable.

A finite element model of temperature field coupled with electromagnetic field has been established based on induction heating theory including Maxwell’s equations, thermal conductivity differential equation and magnetic vector potential to simulate the induction heating process of barrel of injection molding machine by universal ANSYS software, and to obtain temperature field of the barrel related to time variation. The coupled thermal and electromagnetic field problem taking account of nonlinear materials characteristics related to temperature was discussed. The induction heating process of barrel was analyzed, and the temperature distribution and its variation with time were obtained.
