<p>Debris flows are gravity-driven mass movements that are common natural hazards in mountain regions worldwide. Previous work has shown that measurements of ground vibrations are capable of detecting the timing, speed, and location of landslides and debris flows. A remaining question is whether or not additional flow properties, such as grain-size distribution, flow depth, and impact stress can be inferred reliably from seismic data. Here, we experimentally explore the relation of seismic vibrations and normal-force fluctuations with debris-flow composition and dynamics. We show that seismic vibrations and normal-force fluctuations induced by debris flows are strongly correlated, and that both are strongly affected by debris-flow composition. We find that the effects of the large-particle distribution on seismic vibrations and normal-force fluctuations are substantially more pronounced than the effects of water fraction, clay fraction, and flow volume, especially when normalized by flow depth. We further show that for flows with similar coarse-particle distributions seismic vibrations and normal-force fluctuations can be reasonably-well related to flow depth, even if total flow volume, water fraction, and the size distribution of fines varies. Our experimental results shed light on how changes in large-particle, clay, and water fractions affect the seismic and force-fluctuation signatures of debris flows, and provide important guidelines for their interpretation.</p>

The possibilities of using composite materials for the modernization and repair of structures are considered. Based on a review of the sources of literature, it was concluded that the use of glue-pin combined connections is promising. For a combined transversal connection with one fastener, static and dynamic tests were performed on an Instron 1121 test bench. The loading was carried out with a normal force, pulling the fastener out the body of a polymer composite material. The analysis of experimental data is carried out, the fatigue curve is constructed.

Permanent Magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) exist the problem of normal force fluctuation, especially in the servo feeding system of high-precision CNC machine tools. The normal force fluctuation can cause the feeding table in vibration and produce resonance with other moving components of the servo feeding system. It is produced by normal electromagnetic force wave acting on iron cores of PMLSM. In this paper, the analytical expression of normal electromagnetic force wave of single-side PMLSM is deduced with the method of MMF (magnetomotive force) magnetic permeance. And based on this, analyze composition and classification of the force wave component; the further study of the influences to the force wave order and amplitude when the coefficients of the electric machine are changed is done. Then, base on a PMLSM with 6 poles and 36 slots, the results of analytic calculation are accordant with the FEM simulation ones. These results prove the analytical expression is correct and accurate.

Permanent-magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLS-M) exist the problem of normal force fluctuation, especially in the servo feeding system of high-precision CNC machine tools, the normal force fluctuation can cause the feeding table in vibration and produce resonance with other moving components of the servo feeding system .Analysis shows that detent force fluctuation is the predominant factor. Adopt the methods of end-teeth optimization combine with skew or V-skew can effectively reduce the detent force fluctuation. By using the Fourier regression analysis and limited enumeration method to calculate the optimal parameters, and applying the layered finite element analysis for simulation. The results of simulation prove that with the precondition of the thrust force loss slightly, adopt those optimization methods can reduce the normal force fluctuation significantly.

The vast majority of tissue production uses creping to achieve the required set of properties on the base sheet. The Yankee coating helps to develop the desired crepe that in turn determines properties such as bulk and softness. The adhesion of the sheet to the Yankee surface is a very important characteristic to consider in achieving the desired crepe. The coating mix usually consists of the adhesive, modifier, and release. A good combination of these components is essential to achieving the desired properties of the tissue or towel, which often are determined by trials on the machine that can be time consuming and lead to costly rejects. In this paper, five compositions of an industrial Yankee coating adhesive, modifier, and release were examined rheologically. The weight ratio of the adhesive was kept constant at 30% in all five compositions and the modifier and release ratios were varied. The normal force and work done by the different compositions have been shown at various temperatures simulating that of the Yankee surface, and the oscillatory test was carried out to explain the linear and nonlinear viscoelastic characteristic of the optimal coating composition.

A lábszártörés az összes csonttörés 15%-a, amely Magyarországon körülbelül 2500 esetet jelent évente. A törést elszenvedettek 90%-át műtéti úton kezeljük. Az utóbbi időkben a lábszártörések incidenciája emelkedett, a törések súlyossága fokozódott, valamint az egyre fejlettebb műtéti ellátások ellenére a szövődmények arányát sem sikerült minimálisra csökkenteni. A nyílt lábszártöröttek ellátása a felfúrás nélküli velőűrszeg bevezetését követően lényegesen megváltozott, a velőűrszegezés fokozatosan vette át a vezető szerepet az egyre magasabb fokú nyílt törések ellátásában, és alkalmassá vált a tibia proximalis és distalis harmada töréseinek kezelésére is. Új eljárásként a Marchetti–Vicenzi-szeget hazánkban elsőként alkalmaztuk klinikánkon, ezzel a módszerrel a tibia törései, különösen a distalis harmadi törések megbízhatóan, alacsony szövődményaránnyal rögzíthetők. A lábszárbrace és a felfúrás nélküli szegezés együttes alkalmazását 1997-ben dolgoztuk ki, bebizonyítottuk, hogy ezzel a módszerrel a lábszártörések gyógyulása gyorsabb, a rehabilitáció rövidebb időt vesz igénybe. A szövődmények klinikai kutatása során bebizonyítottuk, hogy a felfúrásos és a felfúrás nélküli szegezés során különböző mértékben változik a nyomás a tibiát körülvevő izomrekeszekben. Felfúrás nélküli szegezés során a mély rekeszben statisztikailag is magasabb nyomást mértünk. Az irodalmi adatokkal szemben igazoltuk, hogy nincs összefüggés a szegezés módja, a rekeszi nyomás emelkedése és a compartmentszindróma kialakulása között. A szövődmények alapkutatása során a compartmentszindrómás és Volkmann ischaemiás kontraktúrás betegek kóros harántcsíkolt izomszövetének differenciál pásztázó kalorimetriás vizsgálatát végeztük. Igazoltuk, hogy az ép és a keringésében károsodott izomszövet hőstabilitásában különbség van. Bebizonyítottuk, hogy az izomrekeszen belüli nyomás mértéke, a sérült izom strukturális károsodása és a kalorimetriával mért termokémiai értékei között szoros korreláció van. A kalorimetriás vizsgálat szenzitivitásának és specificitásának köszönhetően nagymértékben segítheti és kiegészítheti a helyes diagnózis felállítását azokban az esetekben, amikor az klinikailag nem egyértelmű.
