Agriculture and farming worldwide are responsible for numerous environmental threats, including degradation of land and water resources depletion. Underlining the dynamic interaction between bio-physical and socio-economic drivers is the key towards a more sustainable land and water management. With regard to a highly developed agricultural area in southern Italy, multi-regression models were developed to interpret the observed inter-annual variability of cropped land. Main drivers related to Common Agricultural Policy support, product market prices, crop yield and irrigation water availability were investigated. The adopted models revealed the different weighs of each driver. The findings reported the role that direct payments played in supporting the extension of irrigated crops, such as processing tomato. Likewise, the models pointed to decoupled payment scheme as the most important driver of change in the crop pattern over the last years.

Assessing the differences in gross margins for a north-western Queensland beef-production system was undertaken using herd-budgeting software. The analysis reviewed the viability of producing beef for the domestic market from either a steer or bull production system. A hypothetical herd of 1200 breeders was created for the case study evaluation. An integrated beef production system from breeding to feedlot finishing was found to be less profitable for bull beef production than for steers at the current market prices. Although bull production was more profitable than steer production during the feedlot phase, the production of bulls in this phase failed to compensate for the earlier economic losses in the weaning phase of –AU$24.04 per adult equivalent for bulls. During the feedlot phase, bull production systems had lower break-even sale prices than did steer production systems. In reviewing two pricing scenarios for bulls, it was found that marketing bulls at the same price as steers was the most profitable production system. We conclude that the production of bull beef from a north-western Queensland production system can be profitable only if bulls can be sold without discount relative to steers.

Many cities have two serious problems: overcrowded on-street parking and undersupplied public services. This article examines a policy to address both problems: charge market prices to manage on-street parking and use the revenue to finance local public services. Our case study of a pilot program for alley improvements in Beijing finds that the estimated payback period for the investments in sanitation, security, landscaping, and parking is less than three years. Only 35 percent of households in the pilot program own a car and the average income of car-owning households is almost three times the income of carless households.

Groundwater has been polluted in different countries, and the pollutants threat to public health. In groundwater remediation design, it is necessary to take health risk level into consideration, which should be as important as the environmental standards. This study advances a health-risk-included optimal model for groundwater remediation design under relaxed environmental standard constraints. It can simulate and optimize the groundwater remediation strategies, and help the decision makers to obtain optimal strategies from various remediation alternatives. The model is applied for a petroleum contaminated site in western Canada to simulate the Pump and Treat system.

An investor must be able to consider all kinds of steps that will be taken or that will be carried out, assessing stocks - shares that will provide optimal benefits in making an investment decision. By analyzing the intrinsic value of the price of a company's stock, investors can assess the fairness of the stock price. The method used to analize intrinsic value is fundamental analysis using the Price Earning Ratio (PER) approach. The samples to be taken in this research are manufacturing companies in Indonesia which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2016 - 2017 with certain criteria. The results of this research will show that the shares of companies listed are in overvalued, undervalued or correctly valued conditions. So investors can decide to buy, hold or sell their shares.
