Organisation need be more effective in retaining the tacit knowledge (know-how and know-what) and made it accessible for another staff to be more productive and enable management to make better decisions. Relying on explicit knowledge and old-style training courses is simply no longer effective to transfer or retain knowledge; therefore, understanding the role of tacit knowledge retentions as part of knowledge management is becoming increasingly more important to fulfil the organisation strategic goals. To attain the aim, theoretical and empirical study using (275) samples from different international oil and gas companies have quantitatively assessed three main factors; the strategic impact of tacit knowledge loss, the impact of knowledge and organisational behaviour at the individual level on knowledge retention within the organization. Based on the study results, both knowledge and organisational behaviour shows direct impact in knowledge retention enhancement. What knowledge and whose knowledge should be emphasised to reduce the impact of crew change. Knowledge management implementation to be the most important factor as Learning and sharing knowledge is affected by the cognitive processes and the way the organisation practice and implement the knowledge share such as mini-workshops, short assignment and community of practice (CoP). The last factor is positive individual attitude, which reflected in more effectiveness knowledge share and transfer. These factors improve tacit knowledge retention and fulfil the strategic goals such as competitiveness advantage and improve the performance, productivity and employee’s effectiveness. Surface electromyography (sEMG) is a widely used technology in rehabilitation research and provides quantifiable information on the myoelectric output of a muscle. In this perspective, we discuss the barriers which have restricted the wide-spread use of sEMG in clinical rehabilitation of individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI). One of the major obstacles is integrating the time-consuming aspects of sEMG in the already demanding schedule of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other clinicians. From the clinicians' perspective, the lack of confidence to use sEMG technology is also apparent due to their limited exposure to the sEMG technology and possibly limited mathematical foundation through educational and professional curricula. Several technical challenges include the limited technology-transfer of ever-evolving knowledge from sEMG research into the off-the-shelf EMG systems, lack of demand from the clinicians for systems with advanced features, lack of user-friendly intuitive interfaces, and the need for a multidisciplinary approach for accurate handling and interpretation of data. We also discuss the challenges in the application and interpretation of sEMG that are specific to SCI, which are characterized by non-standardized approaches in recording and interpretation of EMGs due to the physiological and structural state of the spinal cord. Addressing the current barriers will require a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and unified approach. The most relevant steps could include enhancing user-experience for students pursuing clinical education through revised curricula through sEMG-based case studies/projects, hands-on involvement in the research, and formation of a common platform for clinicians and technicians for self-education and knowledge share.

Platforms like eBay allow product seekers and providers to meet and exchange goods. On eBay, consumers can return a product if it does not correspond to expectations; eBay is the third-party firm in charge of assuring that the agreement among seekers and providers will be respected. Who provides the same service for what concerns open innovation, where specifications might not be fully defined? This paper describes the business model of an organizational structure to support the elicitation and respect of agreements among agents, who have conflicting interests but that gain from cooperating together. Extending previous studies, the business model takes into account the economic dimensions concerning the needs of knowledge share and mutual control to allow a third-party to sustainably reinforce trust among untrusted partners and to lower their overall relational risk.

There has been great learning accumulated within the national and the international healthcare workers and COVID-19 pandemic risk mitigation professionals that are at the front line, facing the disease from different positions and at throughout its various stages. This paper aims to explore the type of learning and knowledge assets from all the multidiscipline perspectives through the observations capture by the front liners. The context deployed in this paper led to selecting different disciplines at the front-line with the pandemic in the WHO-EMRO region.While there have been many publications relevant to the different experiences faced by the healthcare staff with the disease, the implication of this study is that it provides a holistic approach of the type of accumulated learning that could be achieved if all the disciplines involved integrate their knowledge, share it and then re-capture it in one setting in the form of guidelines or protocols.Many of the learning could be a source for future initiatives and projects that would lead to strengthening the preparedness of the health systems, both regionally and globally. A framework is suggested for future collection of the lesson learned by the front line stakeholders to ensure the flow of the knowledge within the community at the right time. Limitations of the paper are discussed along with recommendations for further studies. The paper could be an excellent reference to WHO and public health authorities practices and performance review in relevant to the COVID-9 or similar public emergencies.
