Surface electromyography (sEMG) is a widely used technology in rehabilitation research and provides quantifiable information on the myoelectric output of a muscle. In this perspective, we discuss the barriers which have restricted the wide-spread use of sEMG in clinical rehabilitation of individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI). One of the major obstacles is integrating the time-consuming aspects of sEMG in the already demanding schedule of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other clinicians. From the clinicians' perspective, the lack of confidence to use sEMG technology is also apparent due to their limited exposure to the sEMG technology and possibly limited mathematical foundation through educational and professional curricula. Several technical challenges include the limited technology-transfer of ever-evolving knowledge from sEMG research into the off-the-shelf EMG systems, lack of demand from the clinicians for systems with advanced features, lack of user-friendly intuitive interfaces, and the need for a multidisciplinary approach for accurate handling and interpretation of data. We also discuss the challenges in the application and interpretation of sEMG that are specific to SCI, which are characterized by non-standardized approaches in recording and interpretation of EMGs due to the physiological and structural state of the spinal cord. Addressing the current barriers will require a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and unified approach. The most relevant steps could include enhancing user-experience for students pursuing clinical education through revised curricula through sEMG-based case studies/projects, hands-on involvement in the research, and formation of a common platform for clinicians and technicians for self-education and knowledge share.

There has been great learning accumulated within the national and the international healthcare workers and COVID-19 pandemic risk mitigation professionals that are at the front line, facing the disease from different positions and at throughout its various stages. This paper aims to explore the type of learning and knowledge assets from all the multidiscipline perspectives through the observations capture by the front liners. The context deployed in this paper led to selecting different disciplines at the front-line with the pandemic in the WHO-EMRO region. While there have been many publications relevant to the different experiences faced by the healthcare staff with the disease, the implication of this study is that it provides a holistic approach of the type of accumulated learning that could be achieved if all the disciplines involved integrate their knowledge, share it and then re-capture it in one setting in the form of guidelines or protocols. Many of the learning could be a source for future initiatives and projects that would lead to strengthening the preparedness of the health systems, both regionally and globally. A framework is suggested for future collection of the lesson learned by the front line stakeholders to ensure the flow of the knowledge within the community at the right time. Limitations of the paper are discussed along with recommendations for further studies. The paper could be an excellent reference to WHO and public health authorities practices and performance review in relevant to the COVID-9 or similar public emergencies.

Organisation need be more effective in retaining the tacit knowledge (know-how and know-what) and made it accessible for another staff to be more productive and enable management to make better decisions. Relying on explicit knowledge and old-style training courses is simply no longer effective to transfer or retain knowledge; therefore, understanding the role of tacit knowledge retentions as part of knowledge management is becoming increasingly more important to fulfil the organisation strategic goals. To attain the aim, theoretical and empirical study using (275) samples from different international oil and gas companies have quantitatively assessed three main factors; the strategic impact of tacit knowledge loss, the impact of knowledge and organisational behaviour at the individual level on knowledge retention within the organization. Based on the study results, both knowledge and organisational behaviour shows direct impact in knowledge retention enhancement. What knowledge and whose knowledge should be emphasised to reduce the impact of crew change. Knowledge management implementation to be the most important factor as Learning and sharing knowledge is affected by the cognitive processes and the way the organisation practice and implement the knowledge share such as mini-workshops, short assignment and community of practice (CoP). The last factor is positive individual attitude, which reflected in more effectiveness knowledge share and transfer. These factors improve tacit knowledge retention and fulfil the strategic goals such as competitiveness advantage and improve the performance, productivity and employee’s effectiveness. Keywords: Oil and Gas, Knowledge Retention, Tacit knowledge, knowledge behaviour, organisational behaviour.

This study investigates how technology-intensive new ventures shape and manage their relationships with incumbents to successfully develop new products. We undertake the dynamic views of business relationship to reveal under what conditions new ventures should emphasises more on transactional contract or alliance approach to develop their relationships with incumbents. Using longitudinal multiple case analysis, we show that transactional contract is less effective during discovery and development stages to facilitate knowledge share and collaborative learning between new ventures and incumbents. However, adopting transactional contract is essential during commercialisation to strengthen the relationship, minimise the drawbacks of social bonds, and motivate both parties to engage in new projects. The results show that tensions between exchange partners are likely to increase when the incumbent is flexible to re-negotiate and share the fair benefits during the commercialisation stage. Our findings provide new insights about the evolution of new ventures’ relationships with incumbents across NPD stages.

The study resulted in a strategy design for certificate making service at the notary office. It was a case study at notary office of Theresia Dwi Wijayanti, S.H. the mechanism and work frame/ principle of certificate making service was still in the form of job instructions understood only by several employees, and this often made repeated questions at the service department and became a problem when the employee took permission not to come to work. Since the mechanism and work flow/ principle of the service was not vivid, and there were no any media for the service of making the authentic certificates, the mechanism and the work flow/ principles of services in making the certificates at the notary office.
The design of the strategy is facilitated with the service of certificate making that could be used as a media in knowledge share, became a knowledge management portal at the service department, so it would grow knowledge share culture (Knowledge Sharing) among the employees and the optimal service to the clients.

The system development method used in the study was Knowledge Management Roadmap method with these phases: business modeling, use-case modeling, analysis, design, and implementation. This method resulted in a strategy design for the service department to make certificates. Across the literature, there is a gradual development of research on personal knowledge management (PKM) from theoretical to technical perspective on managing personal knowledge over the computer and Internet technologies. This research domain has aroused the interest of researchers with the introduction of a PKM model to accommodate the understanding of PKM among knowledge workers. In this model, called the GUSC model, there are four main processes, which are Get knowledge, Understand knowledge, Share knowledge and Connect to knowledge sources. This model entails four cognitive enablers that are proposed to mediate the PKM processes. This paper analyses the quantitative data on the GUSC model to further understand the roles of software agents in mediating human’s PKM processes. It also analyses the role of cognitive enablers as mediating factors for the PKM processes, which are seen as potential strong notions for software agency. The results of the analysis show the significance of ‘connect’ as a role of an agent that depends on the rest of the factors. Based on the quantitative findings, it is recommended that the GUSC model is used to conceptualise an agent-based system, with cognitive enablers to determine the appropriate agent-mediated structure for the system.
