Abstract Previous studies have shown that collaboration between school counsellors and other stakeholders such as teachers and administrators leads to improved outcomes for students and a better school climate. The current qualitative study explored the experiences and perceptions of novice school counsellors in India regarding collaboration with teachers and administrators. The sample included 11 novice school counsellors working in five different cities who were recruited using purposive sampling. The thematic analysis of the data collected via semistructured interviews revealed six main themes: ‘Counsellors’ perceptions about collaboration’, ‘Collaboration with teachers’, ‘Collaboration with administrators’, ‘Challenges faced during collaboration’, ‘Strategies helpful in collaboration’ and ‘Impact of training’. Implications discussed include the need for school counsellors to advocate for their role, the need for training programs to prepare stakeholders for collaboration, and the need for policies to integrate the role of a school counsellor into schools.

THE EFFECTS OF LEARNING METHOD AND INFRASTRUCTURE MODIFICATIONS ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT PLAY STRATEGY AND COOPERATION. Abstract The purpose of this study is to reveal the differences of: (1) the effect of teaching methods and learning methods of TGFU Skill Theme on the increase in playing strategy and cooperation, (2) the effect of the modification of the conventional facilities and infrastructure and the improvement of play and collaboration strategies, and (3) the interaction between learning method (TGFU and Skill Theme) and modification of conventional facilities and infrastructure on the improvement of play and cooperation strategies. This research method was an experiment with 2 x 2 factorial design. The population was year XI students of Science class of SMAN 1 Bandongan. The research sample were 64 student taken by random sampling technique. The results of this study are as follows: (1) There is a significant difference in the effect of the learning methods of teaching games for understanding and Skill Theme learning methods on the improvement strategies and cooperative play, while the improving strategies and cooperative play theme methods of learning skills and teaching games for understanding affect the improvement of play and co-operation strategies, (2) There is a significant difference between the modification and conventional infrastructure on the improvement of play and cooperation. Modification of facilities and infrastructure is more effective in increasing the plays and collaboration strategies, and (3 ) There is an interaction between learning method (teaching games for understanding and skill theme) and modification of the conventional facilities and infrastructure and the improvement of play and cooperation strategies. Keywords: TGFU, skill theme, facilities and infrastructure, strategic play, cooperation.

In this chapter, the authors propose a model for a risk assessment tool directed towards and tailored specifically for e-government projects. The authors’ goal is to cover the particular threats pertinent to the e-government project context and provide an interface between the broader philosophy of IT governance frameworks and the technical risk assessment methodologies, thus aiding in the successful and secure implementation and operation of e-government infrastructures. The model incorporates a wide range of applicable risk areas, grouped into eleven levels, as well as seven accompanying dimensions, assembled into a checklist-like matrix, along with an application algorithm and associated indices, which an evaluator can use to calculate risk for one or for multiple interacting projects.

AbstractThis paper examines two potential mechanisms – access to credit and reduction in relational risks – through which social trust can affect R&D investments. Social trust can increase R&D investments by expanding firms' access to external finance with which they can use to fund promising R&D projects. It can also increase R&D investments by reducing relational risks that expose firms to ex-ante and ex-post holdups or expropriation risks. Using industry-level data on R&D investment intensities in 20 OECD countries, I test these mechanisms by evaluating whether more external finance dependent and relational risk vulnerable industries exhibit disproportional higher R&D investment intensities in trust intensive countries. The results indicate that external finance dependent industries and relational risks vulnerable industries experience relatively higher R&D investment intensities in trust-intensive countries. Therefore, the results underline access to external finance and reduction in relational risks as causal pathways linking social trust and R&D investments.
