The massive H II region NGC 3603 is the closest galactic counterpart to the giant LMC nebula 30 Dor. Walborn (1973) first compared the ionizing OB/WR clusters of the two H II regions and suggested that R 136, the unresolved luminous WR + 0 type central object of 30 Dor, might be a multiple system like the core region of NGC 3603. Suggestions that the dominant component of R 136, i.e. R 136A, might be either a single or a very few supermassive and superluminous stars (Schmidt-Kaler and Feitzinger 1982, Savage et al. 1983) have recently been disputed by Moffat and Seggewiss (1983) and Melnick (1983), who have presented spectroscopic and photometric evidence to support the hypothesis of an unresolved cluster of stars. We have extended Walborn's original comparison of the apparent morphology of the two clusters by digital treatment of the images to simulate how the galactic cluster would look like if it were located in the LMC

The main cause of the financial market crisis was the lack of effective and deterrent sanctions for market abuse and the inadequate enforcement of these sanctions. The European legislator has addressed this shortcoming by massively tightening sanctions – especially fines against legal persons. The thesis examines new legal issues that arise in particular from the increasing regulatory density at the European level. The central object of investigation is the tension between the need for deterrent sanctions and the preservation of the principle of proportionality as well as other constitutional principles at the level of the individual company as well as the level of the corporate group.

The growing attention to transparency is not an accidental and fashionable wave, soon to be replaced by another timely topic in environmental governance. Transparency is here to stay and to further develop in environmental politics, as it piggy-backs on a number of wider social developments. In assessing the achievements of transparency to date, this article concludes that it has on balance been positive for democracy. But this overall positive past assessment does not automatically extend into the future, as new challenges (and thus new research agendas) lie ahead. The growing importance attached to transparency in environmental politics ensures that it becomes a central object of power struggles, with uncertain outcomes in terms of democracy as well as environmental effects. Markets and states seek to capture transparency arrangements for their own goals, which may not necessarily be in line with assumed normative linkages between transparency, democracy and participation.

The level of competition in modern markets is such that manufacturers of goods and services have increased requirements for the quality of long-term forecasting, and the active use of the principles of strategic management is more likely to be commonplace. The article analyzes the key problems of staffing the organization implementing the strategy of innovative development. Personnel, as a key resource, is always the central object of analysis during the development of a strategy, regardless of its nature. The article deals with the fundamental differences characteristic of innovative development, namely: the development of the necessary competencies and assessment of their compliance with the actual state of personnel.

Abstract: This article aims to analyze the diplomatic clashes between Brazil and Uruguay in the mid nineteenth century that had the shaft interwoven plot of the convergence between slavery and diplomacy. Abstract This article discusses the forms of imposition of the western Christian cultural standard of Brazil during the XVI century. The Jesuits, in the steps of the Counter Reform, served as types of "organic intellectuals" of the colonial Portuguese system. In the beginning, the Jesuit action centred on the catechism and on the education of Indian and mameluke children, seeking, through them, to attract their parents to Christian principles. The children were the central object of Jesuit pedagogy. Within the catechism specifically, the priests combated the central elements of indigenous culture: anthropophagi, nakedness, polygamy, and of the nomadic way of life. The elementary school in the XVI century thus constituted one of the ideological pillars on which the colonial Portuguese order was consolidated in Brazil. Keywords: jesuit catechism; cultural domination; indigenous children.
