AbstractThis article offers a comparative study of maximizing and modelling production costs by means of composite triangular fuzzy and trapezoidal FLPP. It also outlines five different scenarios of instability and has developed realistic models to minimize production costs. Herein, the first attempt is made to examine the credibility of optimized cost via two different composite FLP models, and the results were compared with its extension, i.e., the trapezoidal FLP model. To validate the models with real-time phenomena, the Production cost data of Rail Coach Factory (RCF) Kapurthala has been taken. The lower, static, and upper bounds have been computed for each situation, and then systems of optimized FLP are constructed. The credibility of each model of composite-triangular and trapezoidal FLP concerning all situations has been obtained, and using this membership grade, the minimum and the greatest minimum costs have been illustrated. The performance of each composite-triangular FLP model was compared to trapezoidal FLP models, and the intense effects of trapezoidal on composite fuzzy LPP models are investigated.

Abstract Modernisation of the existing river fleet adapted for the local conditions of the Middle and Lower Vistula can be considered as a solution to slow down the progressive decrease of river transport in this area. The implementation of technical improvements, smart technologies and enhancement of transport performance may partially solve the problem of growing demand for multimodal transport of containers and oversized loads in a shorter perspective than the expected period of planned revitalisation of the river. The paper presents investigations on the modernisation of river convoys adapted to the current navigational conditions of the Lower Vistula. The different options have been discussed by the authors with river fleet operators and the best recognised solution was agreed to be the use of river convoys combining modernised motor barges and the pushed barges previously used in this area. Improvement of the transport profitability, reduction of fuel consumption, air pollution and noise can be achieved at minimum costs by modernisation of the main power-propulsion systems of outdated motor barges and the implementation of innovative steering systems on pushed barges. The demand for power-propulsion and manoeuvring performance of modernised convoys is discussed in the paper.

The method of dynamic programming has been considered, which is used in solving multiple problems in economics, on the example of using Bellman’s optimality principle for solving nonlinear programming problems. On a specific numerical example, the features of the solution have been shown in detail with all the calculations. The problem of optimal distribution of funds among enterprises for the expansion of production has been formulated, which would give the maximum total increase in output. The solution of the task has been presented in the case, when the number of enterprises is 3. It has been shown, that the Bellman optimality principle allows you solve applied problems of cost forecasting with obtaining the optimal solution-maximum profit at minimum costs.
