Background: During the long wait and the global anxiety for a vaccine against COVID-19, impressively high-safety and effective vaccines were invented by multiple pharmaceutical companies. Aim: We aimed to assess the attitudes of healthcare providers and evaluate their intention to advocate for the vaccine. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in a tertiary private hospital where an electronic survey was distributed among healthcare providers (HCPs). The survey contained two sections: socio-demographic characteristics and Likert-scale perception, with 72% internal consistency. Results: The response rate to the email survey was 37% (n = 236). In addition, 169 (71.6%) of respondents were women, with more than half (134, 56.8%) aged ≤35 years. A total of 110 (46.6%) had over 10 years of experience, and most of them were nurses (146, 62%). Univariate analysis revealed that older participants significantly accepted and advocated for the new vaccine more than the younger ones. In the multivariate analysis, men were significantly more likely than women to accept and advocate for the new vaccine, as were those with chronic illnesses. Participants with allergy were significantly less likely to accept the vaccine than others. odds ratio (OR) and p-values were 2.5, 0.003; 2.3, 0.04; and 0.4, 0.01, respectively. Conclusion: The acceptance rate for the newly-developed COVID-19 vaccines was average among HCPs. Sex, age, presence of chronic illnesses, and allergy were significant predictors of accepting the vaccine.

This paper is devoted to the proof of the following theorem.Theorem. Let M be a countable standard transitive model of ZF + V = L, and let ℒ Є M be a wellfounded lattice in M, with top and bottom. Then there is a generic extension N of M such that(i) N and M have the same cardinals, and κN ⊂ M;(ii) the c-degrees of sets of ordinals of N form a pattern isomorphic to ℒ;(iii) if A ⊂ On and A Є N, there is B Є P(κ+)N such that L(A) = L(B).The proof proceeds by forcing with Souslin trees, and relies heavily on techniques developed by Jech. In [5] he uses these techniques to construct simple Boolean algebras in L, and in [6] he uses them to construct a model of set theory whose c-degrees have orderlype 1 + ω*.The proof also draws on ideas of Adamovicz. In [1]–[3] she obtains consistency results concerning the possible patterns of c-degrees of sets of ordinals using perfect set forcing and symmetric models. These methods have the advantage of yielding real degrees, but involve greater combinatorial complexity, in particular the use of ‘sequential representations’ of lattices.The advantage of the approach using Souslin trees is twofold: first, we can make use of ready-made combinatorial principles which hold in L, and secondly, the notion of genericity over a Souslin tree is particularly simple.

Abstract Introduction For students and trainees, COVID-19 has restricted opportunities for training and development. We sought to develop a virtual network to facilitate remote engagement and training in surgical research during COVID-19. RoboSurg aims to conduct a series of systematic reviews, to summarise and critique the reporting of studies of robot-assisted surgery across seven upper gastrointestinal procedures. Methods A protocol was developed based on previously published work. Searches were undertaken to identify studies evaluating robotic pancreas, liver, oesophagus, stomach, gallbladder, bariatric and anti-reflux surgery. Participants were identified through social media and collaborative research networks. Abstracts were screened for inclusion by two participants. Data extraction is completed by teams of collaborators, entered into a bespoke REDCap database and verified by senior team member. Changes are logged, with rationale and feedback provided to collaborators and reviewed by a third reviewer to assess consistency. Results of each review will be summarised in narrative syntheses. Results A total of 134 collaborators have registered, with 73 active participants. Collaborators range from second year medical students to surgical registrars across the UK. To date, 9444 abstracts and 1653 full texts have been screened with 422 eligible articles identified. Data extraction for two systematic reviews, including 193 articles, has been completed using this approach. Conclusion RoboSurg has developed a network and methodological framework for the remote conduction of complex systematic reviews, which can be utilised to engage and train students and trainees in surgical research.

Background and PurposeA new instrument was designed specifically to evaluate nurses' knowledge, attitude, and practice toward patients who use opioids. This study team developed and tested the psychometric properties of the Perception of Opioid Use Survey (POUS) instrument.MethodsThe instrument was tested among 306 nurses at a 183 bed acute care community hospital, with psychometric evaluation for validity, reliability, and exploratory factor analysis.ResultsInternal consistency results were Cronbach's alpha = .550 for the overall scale and each subscale: Self-Efficacy = .796, Attitudes = .744, Community Impact = .806, and Causative Factors = .763.ConclusionsPsychometric testing results support that the POUS is valid, reliable, and significantly correlated with theoretically selected variables.

In this paper, I present research geared toward the identification of metaphors in a corpus of conference calls given by a Brazilian investment bank. These conference calls are presentations held between the bank’s board and its investors. The methodology was based on the extensive annotation of all metaphors in the corpus. This annotation was followed by a thorough check via concordances, in order to ensure its consistency. Results show the most frequent metaphors, the vocabulary that realizes them, as well as the source domains from which they originate.

We develop the machinery for performing forcing over an arbitrary (possibly non-wellfounded) model of set theory. For consistency results, this machinery is unnecessary since such results can always be legitimately obtained by assuming that the ground model is (countable) transitive. However, for establishing properties of a given (possibly non-wellfounded) model, the fully developed machinery of forcing as a means to produce new related models can be useful. We develop forcing through iterated forcing, paralleling the standard steps of presentation found in [19] and [14].

Tactile-kinesthetic-proprioceptive (TKP) input used to facilitate speech motor control is considered an active ingredient within speech motor interventions. Objective metrics identifying skill level differences across speech-language pathologists (S-LP) providing TKP cues are crucial for monitoring treatment delivery fidelity. The study examined three kinematic measures indicating accuracy and consistency of TKP inputs by 3 S-LPs with varying experience levels (S-LP 1: novice; S-LP 2 and S-LP 3: advanced). Confidence interval measures were used to compare the accuracy of jaw movement amplitudes of the vowel /a/ made by a model participant versus S-LPs giving the TKP input. Generalised Orthogonal Procrustes Analysis (GPA) and cyclic Spatial Temporal Index (cSTI) were used to determine movement consistency. Results revealed passive jaw excursions induced by S-LP 2 and 3 to be not statistically significant from the model participant’s active jaw movements. cSTI values decreased with advanced level of experience (19.28, 12.14, and 9.33 for S-LP 1, S-LP 2, and S-LP 3, respectively). GPA analyses revealed a similar pattern for S-LPs with more experience demonstrating lower mean RMS values (0.22, 0.03, and 0.11 for S-LP 1, S-LP 2, and S-LP 3, respectively). Findings suggest kinematic measures adapted from the motor control literature can be applied to assess S-LP skill differences in providing TKP cues.

Working from the premise that the clinical condition of thought-disordered schizophrenia is generally accompanied with a breakdown in interpersonal relationships, the current study examined the hypothesis that thought-disordered schizophrenics are more inconsistent in their judgment of significant others according to psychological or affective dimensions than non-thought-disordered individuals. In the current study 13 thought-disordered schizophrenic and 13 non-thought-disordered psychiatric outpatients were administered the Interpersonal Judgment Scale on a test-retest basis to attain an index of interpersonal judgment consistency. Results show that the schizophrenic subjects were significantly less consistent in their assignment of ratings on the Interpersonal Judgment Scale retest than the non-schizophrenic subjects. The relationship between inconsistent interpersonal judgment and the clinical concept of “loosened construing” is discussed.
