In this article we describe an instructional program that focuses on applying causal reasoning and related principles of the scientific method to problems faced in daily life. In a highly interactive classroom setting, the instructor gives students repeated opportunities to apply methodological reasoning to real-world scenarios for the purpose of making informed decisions. In addition to describing the program, we report the findings of a capstone exercise that examined changes in students' beliefs toward legalization of marijuana after reading persuasive communications. Students who experienced the instructional program exhibited less bias in evaluating information and less attitude polarization than students in a comparison group. We discuss the implications of these findings for developing and evaluating instructional programs in methodological reasoning in psychology.

The following study presents an attempt to put scientific method to work upon a practical problem of human relations and morale in an industrial company. The study was undertaken in order to supply the management and personnel of the company with an interpretation of certain difficulties of attitude and personal feeling which had sprung up in the daily life of the concern and which had to be solved in the interests of better organization. The company was dependent for much of its business life upon a large staff of engineers and these difficulties involved the place and attitude of these men in their relations with others of the personnel.

Abstract: The area of natural sciences should be approached from an elementary perspective for the student, since it aims at the study of nature, through the use of the scientific method, specifically the experimental method, using as a basis the logical reasoning and the arithmetic calculation Therefore, the student during his study, must develop scientific skills to build meaningful learning that will serve him in his daily life. In the present article, the author presents various alternatives to strengthen such student competencies, product of a situation analysis with application of scientific research which is in process, so that they are contributions to the teaching of natural sciences, in this case of physics for the level of secondary education in ColombiaKeywords Scientific Competences, Physics, Students.

Abstract

The examination of daily life presents us the most objective information from point of sociology. Therefore, a general outlook on social relationship in life from religious point of view can contribute us to understand Islam accurately. Objectivity is basic principle in scientific method. In order to obtain theoretical generalizations, we should act from one by one objective event or fact. It can be claimed that obtaining any theory through generalizing is a safer way. There are some approaches that advice us to follow the same way to create sociological theories. They are called as “small scale approaches.” Rather than analyzing sociological theories, this article examines the possibility of adaptation of sociological approaches, regarding evaluation of daily life, to religious aspects. Eventually, it was concluded that it is possible to compare our daily life activities with those of Prophet Muhammad’s time. Shortly, the sociological examination of daily life from point of religion indicates that the main reason of collapse of the world of Turk-Islam even the whole humanity is the lack of faith-practice or essence-function in terms of educating people. The examination of daily life from point of religion can contribute to this matter of obtaining more sound mentality.

Abstract Audiologists have a responsibility to counsel patients with auditory concerns on methods to manage the inherent challenges associated with hearing loss at every point in the process: evaluation, hearing aid fitting, and follow-up visits. Adolescents with hearing loss struggle with the typical developmental challenges along with communicative challenges that can erode one's self-esteem and self-worth. The feeling of “not being connected” to peers can result in feelings of isolation and depression. This article advocates the use of a Narrative Therapy approach to counseling adolescents with hearing loss. Adolescents with hearing loss often have problem-saturated narratives regarding various components of their daily life, friendships, amplification, academics, etc. Audiologists can work with adolescents with hearing loss to deconstruct the problem-saturated narratives and rebuild the narratives into a more empowering message. As the adolescent retells their positive narrative, they are likely to experience increased self-esteem and self-worth.
