The objective of post-evaluation Treasurer Training in 2015 is to analyze the influence of Treasurer Training programme design to the competency of treasurers which contribute to bettermen of their duties and tasks as treasurer, furthermore, to analyze the subject of Treasurer Training which need to refined. This post-evaluation research respondents are alumni, alumni's superiors, and alumni's peers of Treasurer Training in the first semester of 2015. This research utilizes interview and disseminates questionaries to alumni, superiors, and peers. Data processing is carried out using descriptive statistics with SPSS and Microsoft Excel. The research output including three competences show that score of knowledge competence is 4.53 (very good), score of skills is 4.54 (very good) and attitude is 4.52 (very good). The result of Chi-Square test shows that there is no difference in competence evaluation by alumni, superiors, and peers so it is considered objective.

The Partnership for Reviving Routine Immunization in Northern Nigeria - Maternal, Newborn and Child Health initiative supports efforts by the government of Nigeria to bridge primary health care (PHC) policies and services at three levels of government: federal, state and local. The paper suggests that understandings informed by complexity theory and complex adaptive systems have been helpful in shaping policy and programme design across these levels. To illustrate this, three initiatives are explored: <em>Bringing PHC under one roof</em>, enhancing access to funding provided by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, and strengthening the midwives service scheme. These initiatives have demonstrated how concepts and experience developed at subnational level can influence national policy and practice, and how work at subnational levels can add value to nationally conceived and nationally driven plans for PHC.

The organization of the C.S.I.R.O. Mark I computer is described. The code system is of a two-address type in which each operation called by an "order" or "command" is thought of as a quality of a transfer of the content of one "register" to another. Each command indicates a source and a destination. A special notation of mnemonic type is adopted for written programmes as an aid in the various stages of programme design. The written programme may be translated, by aid of a special encoding key-punch, from the written sheet onto paper tape, the medium through which the machine accepts data.

This article discusses activities carried out in the virtual world of Second Life (SL) as part of a compulsory class in the first year of an undergraduate programme. The paper identifies the contribution of SL to the students’ learning environment and an Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) approach to programme design. The reasons for taking an IBL approach are explained in relation to institutional and disciplinary goals. The paper reflects on the contribution of the three key learning environments—the classroom, WebCT and SL—to students’ learning. SL is evaluated in relation to a conceptual framework of IBL. It is concluded that SL has made a contribution to students’ achievement of learning outcomes from the class, and has facilitated the development of students’ inquiry skills. In conclusion, further avenues for developing research and teaching are identified.

Abstract Animal breeding for welfare and sustainability requires improving and optimizing environmental impact, productivity, robustness and welfare. Breeding is a long-term exercise at the start of the food chain with permanent cumulative outcomes, disseminated widely. This chapter explains, with a focus on poultry, breeding programme design and how broadening breeding goals and managing trait antagonism results in balanced breeding and more robust animal populations. Breeding progress in skeleton and skin health, physiology and body composition, and behaviour are addressed. The economic impact of welfare and environmental improvements is worked out, and the ethical and societal aspects of genetic improvement are put into perspective. The consideration of feedbacks of all stakeholders, including customers and the wider society, is crucial. For each crossbreed, breeders will continue to improve overall welfare, health, productivity and environmental impact, but between the crossbreeds there will be clear differences answering specific demands of concepts and brands.

This chapter discusses the importance of project insurance. Financiers take an onerous approach to insurance in project finance transactions, requiring a comparably more robust insurance programme than would be adopted in a project that is financed on balance sheet alone. This reflects the fact that until the project company has established a reliable revenue stream, it will have a low level of capitalization and be highly leveraged. The primary function of insurance is to act as a risk transfer mechanism. In return for a known cost (the premium) the uncertainty associated with both the frequency and severity of loss is transferred to the insurer. The discussions cover insurance programme design, project company control, the breadth and scope of the insurance programme, legal and commercial influences on procurement, and insurance risk itself and lenders’ clauses.
