A Pico hydro power plant is one good solution to support energy independence for rural areas in Indonesia. The problem that normally emerged is the uncertainty of water debit. This may cause the damage of the Pico hydro power plant equipment. The main objective of this study is to design a water flow monitoring (WAFLOW-MT) device based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This device may help the technicians at the Pico hydro power plant in monitoring the speed of water flow at the river so that the water debit is recorded all the time. The design and development process of the WAFLOW-MT device was done through 4 stages: 1) need analysis; 2) system design; 3) system development, and 4) system testing. The data was collected from the water flow sensor and sent via IoT to the webserver thingspeak.com by 6 days duration of testing. According to the testing result, it can be concluded that the WAFLOW-MT device successfully monitored the water flow of the river.

The environmental degradation becomes a great matter of concern due to use and disposal of Chloro-Fluoro-Carbons (CFCs) and Hydro Chloro-Fluoro-Carbons (HCFCs) as refrigerants in conventional refrigeration and air conditioning systems. This leads to extensive research into development of alternate refrigeration systems. Solar energy which is renewable source of energy is available abundantly in the environment. This study deals with the design and development of eco-friendly solar powered thermoelectric refrigeration system. In rural areas where people have to deal with electricity problems, this thermoelectric module will be very helpful to them as it runs on solar energy. Vegetables, Food items and other different required things can be preserved in it. In thermoelectric refrigeration system, the mechanical parts and coolants which are used in conventional refrigeration systems get eliminated and a thermoelectric module is used instead which is cost effective and vibration free. The objective of this study is to develop a working thermoelectric refrigeration system to cool a volume of 5 lit capacity cabinet that utilizes the Peltier effect to cool and maintain a selected temperature range of 80C to 15 0C. Solar panel is used to provide the required energy to run this system.

An approach towards an Improvement in performance of cook stoves has been a great challenge to scientists and researchers as biomass cook stoves are one of the basic needs of people living in rural areas. But due to household pollution by Traditional Cook stoves causes illness to people preparing for their regular meals near it. So, taking an initiative for Designing, Fabricating and Improvisation in the performance of Forced Draft cook stoves by placing proper Primary and Secondary holes in combustion chamber which gives better air distribution for proper combustion to get Lower Emission rates. Various experimentations are being performed on the basis of standard protocols i.e. BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), VITA (Volunteer in Technical Assistance), EPTP (Emission Performance Test Protocol), WBT (Water Boiling Test) amongst which BIS had an upper hand and had very less uncertainty of errors due to which it is mostly being used in checking and improving emission performance of cook stoves for more efficient use with less chances of health issues. This paper consists of Design, Calculations and Constructional working of Forced Draft Biomass Cook stove and also the Burning rate Calculations were carried out to check fuel burnt rate.

The entailment for weather forecasting to take the essential pre-cautious measures in our regular routines and elude the unwanted fatalities has made this more attractive area of research. Particularly in the rural areas the weather forecasting enables the farmers to have an effective crop management, avoiding the destruction in the crops and increasing the yield. In order to have a real time weather forecasting the proposed method in the paper tries to develop an automatic weather forecasting device based on the microcontroller. The proposed method utilizes the sensors to monitor the weather changes and engages the raspberry pi to process the information gathered and convey it to the end user. The proposed system was tested by implementing it in the Indian delta districts and the accuracy, precision and flexibility in the forecasting was evinced by the data output observed over and done with the Thinkspeak .Web

This report deals with an effort to begin the process of effectively identifying children in rural areas with speech and language problems using existing school personnel. A two-day competency-based workshop for the purpose of training aides to conduct a large-scale screening of speech and language problems in elementary-school-age children is described. Training strategies, implementation, and evaluation procedures are discussed.
