The chapter presents an impact of Industry 4.0 transformation on logistics and supply chain management. Logistics and later supply chain management discipline has gone through a number of changes in the last 50 years, namely transition among mass, lean, agile, resilient, and green. All of them are paradigm changes as each significantly reshapes the orientation of the discipline in the source of competitiveness, risk concern, customer services, productivity, process management, externalities, costs, and other aspects of the disciplines. The author presents findings gained in the exploration of these fundamental changes and provides a comparison with a previous change of paradigm. The chapter proposes a transformation that the company supply chain system has to go through to re-establish its competitive position at the time of Industry 4.0. The chapter provides a case study of 3PL perception of Industry 4.0 based on in-depth interviews conducted among the major global 3PLs operating in the Czech Republic.

The important role of SMEs in the national economy, the development of the current era, namely industry 4.0, requires businesses to continue to be able to innovate, especially in technology and operations including the supply chain SMEs, so it needs encouragement from various groups including academics how to make conceptual material into policy or decisions for actors and stakeholders. The perpetrator of the SME Borondong Industry is one that must be supported because it is a traditional cultural heritage which is also a superior product in West Java so that it is expected to improve the economy. Along with the growing awareness of SMEs on technology, because it is facing the millennial era, it is an opportunity for researchers to provide conceptual treats so that they can be useful for the actors of Borondong Industry SMEs. There are a number of problems that have been borne by these bourgeois SMEs, one of which is the absence of a concept that describes the condition of the supply chain of the SME industry. The aim of this study focuses on issues regarding the Borondong SME supply chain, exploring the areas that need to be improved and assessing how the supply chain performs. The research method used is descriptive with the approach of the Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR). The findings are a general description of the supply chain in the Borondong Industry SMEs. Keywords: Supply Chain, SMEs, SCOR

In today’s hypercompetitive world, electronics manufacturing companies experience challenges to respond to increasing consumer electronics demand while combatting disruptive change in their industries. The revolution in manufacturing via Industry 4.0 has transformed the way that companies approach supply chain process to gain a stronger understanding of data efficiencies. This case study examines OptimalPlus to demonstrate how its services while tapping into today’s technologies keep pace with competitors during disruptive change in the consumer electronics industry. OptimalPlus is a leader in providing the software solutions necessary for electronics manufacturers to get the most out of its supply chain process. This study explores the concept of Industry 4.0 and the benefits that manufacturers can gain from utilizing technologies. By understanding the benefits of using Industry 4.0, scholars and practitioners can better understand the way to innovate under the lens of disruptive change in the marketplace.

Green supply chain is the process used for diminishing the exploitation of resources and producing sustainable technological development. The aim of the research work is to build the proficient Industry 4.0 green architectures index for assessing the feasible candidate choice. In the research work, a crisp numbers set-based MOORA-FMF advanced technique is executed for examining the Industry 4.0 green architectures of vendors firms. The managers are assisted with an Industry 4.0 green architectures index with optimization technique to quantify the performances of alternatives. Therefore, a real case study of a steel manufacturing plant is carried to simulate the proposed Industry 4.0 GSC architectures. Eventually, the results are presented in the conclusion.

Industry 4.0 proposals have an important impact not only in companies but also in the complete supply chain. The effect in the supply chain is different depending on each Industry 4.0 proposal and each supply chain configuration. This chapter deals with Industry 4.0 from the supply chain perspective. Four levels of scope on the supply chain and a classification scheme based on three blocks (technologies, features and extensions) have been defined. Finally, the case study in the food sector gives a real vision of some previously introduced concepts about Industry 4.0 from the supply chain perspective.

The importance of 3D printing is primarily that it enables customized production and, through Industry 4.0 technology, enables decentralized production. The article deals with the issue of 3D modelling and 3D printing of plastic respirators in the laboratory conditions of the authors’ workplace. In the above case study, the process of creating 3D models of individual parts of a plastic respirator and the production of a given model using a 3D printer is processed. The article also outlines the trends in 3D printing in connection with Blockchain and their importance on the Supply Chain.
