In quantum liquids, large differences are observed owing to differences in quantum statistics. The physical properties of liquid 3He (Fermion) and 4He (Boson) are considerably different at low temperatures. After the discovery of superconductivity in electron (i.e., Fermion) systems, a similar pairing ordered state was expected for 3He. Remarkably, the observed ordered state of 3He was more surprising than expected, multiple superfluid phases in the <em>T-P</em> phase diagram. The origin of the multiple phases was attributed to ferromagnetic interactions in the <em>p</em>-wave symmetry state.

We report on the superconducting properties in a thick amorphous Mg x B 1-x film, which was prepared by coevaporation of pure Mg and B. Measurements of the current-voltage characteristics and the AC complex resistivity in magnetic fields indicate the presence of the vortex-glass transition. Based on the data, we construct the possible phase diagram in the field-temperature plane. We find that there is the large vortex-liquid phase, which persists down to low temperatures.

Since the discovery of perchlorate salts on Mars and the known occurrence of ferric salts in the regolith, there is a distinct possibility that the title compound could form on the surface of Mars. [Fe(H2O)6](ClO4)3·3H2O was crystallized from aqueous solutions at low temperatures according to the solid–liquid phase diagram. It consists of Fe(H2O)6octahedra (point group symmetry -3.) and perchlorate anions (point group symmetry .2) as well as non-coordinating water molecules, as part of a second hydrogen-bonded coordination sphere around the cation. The perchlorate appears to be slightly disordered, with major–minor component occupancies of 0.773 (9):0.227 (9).

We have made X-ray diffraction and magnetization measurements for pseudo-binary compounds (Mn1–xFex)3–δ Ga having the DO19 type hexagonal structure. For x≦0.1 the hexagonal structure is slightly distorted to an orthorhombic structure at low temperatures. The Néel temperature of the triangular spin structure decreases monotonically with increasing x, while the compounds with x>0.5 show the typical ferromagnetism. The magnetic phase diagram of the system is proposed.
