Melasma, as a pigmentation disorder, induces significant stress to the patients and its recurrent nature remains a challenge in clinical practice. Treatment is based on a variety of mechanisms to prevent and/or stop the pigment production process by destroying the deposited pigment for removal or release, by peeling cells to improve their turnover, and by reducing inflammation. The use of appropriate devices and correct settings are crucial in the treatment of melasma. Cases unresponsive to topical bleaches or chemical peels should be referred for laser therapy. It is important that a maintenance therapy to avoid the recurrence of melasma be indicated. In this paper, we review energy-based devices for melasma treatment.

according to analyzing and summarizing the literature of ilmenite concentrate smelting titanium slag, comes to conclude: the production process of ilmenite concentrate smelting titanium slag can be divided into the one-step method and two-step method, dominated by two-step method at home; foreign dominated by two-step. This paper introduces the main content of one-step method and two-step method, and compares the two methods from aspects of technology, quality, cost and environmental protection, and finally summarizes it.

Scandium (Sc) applications in solid oxygen fuel cells, aeronautics and heat exchange systems are forecasted to increase significantly without a sufficient continuous Sc supply for Europe. ScaVanger is an EU project for upscaling Sc extraction and purification technologies from various TiO2 pigment production residues. High purity Sc2O3 and ScF3 will be produced at competitive prices for the EU market. The ScaVanger process is expected to result in a 10% higher production rate and higher product purity as processing starts with a unique cleaning process of actinides. The first plant at a major European TiO2 pigment production site will be supplying about 30 t/a of Sc2O3.
