We derive the formula in the title and deduce some consequences. For example we show that the identity map from any compact manifold to itself is always stable as an exponentially harmonic map. This is in sharp contrast to the harmonic or p-harmonic cases where many such identity maps are unstable. We also prove that an isometric and totally geodesic immersion of Sm into Sn is an unstable exponentially harmonic map if m ≠ n and is a stable exponentially harmonic map if m = n.

Abstract We consider Hölder continuous cocycles over an accessible partially hyperbolic system with values in the group of diffeomorphisms of a compact manifold $\mathcal {M}$ . We obtain several results for this setting. If a cocycle is bounded in $C^{1+\gamma }$ , we show that it has a continuous invariant family of $\gamma $ -Hölder Riemannian metrics on $\mathcal {M}$ . We establish continuity of a measurable conjugacy between two cocycles assuming bunching or existence of holonomies for both and pre-compactness in $C^0$ for one of them. We give conditions for existence of a continuous conjugacy between two cocycles in terms of their cycle weights. We also study the relation between the conjugacy and holonomies of the cocycles. Our results give arbitrarily small loss of regularity of the conjugacy along the fiber compared to that of the holonomies and of the cocycle.

AbstractThere are three basic boundary value problems for the inhomogeneous polyanalytic equation in planar domains, the well-posed iterated Schwarz problem, and further two over-determined iterated problems of Dirichlet and Neumann type. These problems are investigated in planar domains having a harmonic Green function. For the Schwarz problem, treated earlier [Ü. Aksoy, H. Begehr, A.O. Çelebi, AV Bitsadze’s observation on bianalytic functions and the Schwarz problem. Complex Var Elliptic Equ 64(8): 1257–1274 (2019)], just a modification is mentioned. While the Dirichlet problem is completely discussed for arbitrary order, the Neumann problem is just handled for order up to three. But a generalization to arbitrary order is likely.

AbstractIn this paper we study an analog of minimal surfaces called Weyl-minimal surfaces in conformal manifolds with a Weyl connection (M4, c, D). We show that there is an Eells-Salamon type correspondence between nonvertical 𝒥-holomorphic curves in the weightless twistor space and branched Weyl-minimal surfaces. When (M, c, J) is conformally almost-Hermitian, there is a canonical Weyl connection. We show that for the canonical Weyl connection, branched Weyl-minimal surfaces satisfy the adjunction inequality\chi \left( {{T_f}\sum } \right) + \chi \left( {{N_f}\sum } \right) \le \pm {c_1}\left( {f*{T^{\left( {1,0} \right)}}M} \right).The ±J-holomorphic curves are automatically Weyl-minimal and satisfy the corresponding equality. These results generalize results of Eells-Salamon and Webster for minimal surfaces in Kähler 4-manifolds as well as their extension to almost-Kähler 4-manifolds by Chen-Tian, Ville, and Ma.
