The paper presents the results of studies of the physicochemical characteristics of the carbon-containing material obtained as a result of the pyrolysis of worn automobile tires. Ankerite (1.21%), zinc oxide (1.14%) and other components. Composite elastomeric materials based on rubbers SKI-3 and Nairit KR-50, filled with carboncontaining material, have been developed. Interconnections between structural radiations and the natural surface of a carbon-containing material and rubber macromolecules were found. The technological and rheological properties of the floor-elastomeric compositions with a carbon-containing effect were studied, and their optimal content in rubber compounds was shown.

The main objectives of this work were to investigate the physical and rheological properties of nano zinc oxide (NaZO) flake structure as a modifier in asphalt binder. NaZO was produced with hydrothermal method by using two precursors, which are zinc nitrate and sodium hydroxide. NaZO was mixed with virgin binder 60/70 penetration grade at 3%, 5% and 7% of asphalt binder weight, respectively. The physical properties were evaluated by conventional testing, such as penetration, softening point and viscosity. Meanwhile, the rheological property, such as rutting resistance, was measured by using a dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) for unaged and rolling thin film oven (RTFO) aged. It was observed that the penetration value was decreased and the softening point increased with increasing NaZO concentrations. In addition, the rutting resistance factor was increased for the modified binder. A comparison between the modified binder, 7% NaZO, showed a greater resistance to rutting before and after aging. Results of this study showed that the NaZO addition had increased the asphalt binder stiffness ; thus, could contribute to better resistance to permanent deformation.

The formation of coffee-ring deposits upon evaporation of sessile droplets containing mixtures of poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDADMAC) and two different anionic surfactants were studied. This process is driven by the Marangoni stresses resulting from the formation of surface-active polyelectrolyte–surfactant complexes in solution and the salt arising from the release of counterions. The morphologies of the deposits appear to be dependent on the surfactant concentration, independent of their chemical nature, and consist of a peripheral coffee ring composed of PDADMAC and PDADMAC–surfactant complexes, and a secondary region of dendrite-like structures of pure NaCl at the interior of the residue formed at the end of the evaporation. This is compatible with a hydrodynamic flow associated with the Marangoni stress from the apex of the drop to the three-phase contact line for those cases in which the concentration of the complexes dominates the surface tension, whereas it is reversed when most of the PDADMAC and the complexes have been deposited at the rim and the bulk contains mainly salt.

The effect of sodium dodecyl sulfate and sodium oleate on the structural-rheological properties of a dispersed hydrogel based on polyacrylic acid was studied. It was shown that the viscosity of hydrogel compositions with surfactants is higher than the viscosity of the individual components and increases with increasing temperature from 20 to 40 °C. Compositions with sodium oleate are non-Newton liquids and exhibit thixotropic properties.
