C/C-SiC composite as low expansion material for space opto-mechanical structures was prepared by gaseous silicon infiltration after high temperature treatment (HTT) on C/C. 2000°C and 2400°C were selected as the treatment temperatures for C/C to study the influences on the properties of C/C-SiC composite. The graphitization level of amorphous C in C/C was improved by HTT. The porosity of C/C increased from 32.88% to 34.25% (2000°C) and 41.06% (2400°C) respectively. In addition, a higher HTT temperature led to a higher density of C/C-SiC composite and a lower SiC content. Furthermore, the mechanical properties and coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the composite decreased as the temperature increased. After 2000°C HTT, the CTE of C/C-SiC composite decreased to-0.055×10-6·K-1 and the mechanical properties (218 MPa) could meet the application demand at the same time.

Cotton fabrics are very popular textile products to consumers due to their soft hand and comfortable wearing performance. However, the severe wrinkles on cotton fabrics will frequently happen after washing or wearing. As the growth of the market and demand of consumers, the sales of the steam ironing machine which can remove wrinkles to some extent is getting better. At present, the research is inadequate on the wrinkling mechanism during steam ironing. Therefore, in this paper, we aimed to investigate how cotton woven fabrics’ performance influences on the smoothness appearance after steam ironing. To further analyze wrinkling mechanism, fabrics’ wrinkle recovery rates which comprehensive characterize the physical and mechanical properties were tested with PhabrOmeter, including wrinkle recovery rates at normal temperature and after high temperature treatment. Then, the effect of temperature to fabrics’ wrinkle recovery rates and its relationship with fabrics’ smoothness appearance after ironing were studied. The results indicate that there are no significant correlations between the fabric basic parameters with smoothness appearance after ironing. The effect of temperature during ironing can improve the wrinkle recovery rates about 6%-21%. And no significant correlation is showed between smoothness appearance after ironing and wrinkle recovery rates. Keywords: Steam Ironing; mechanism; fabric parameters; wrinkle recovery rate.

A new lightweight thermal insulation board, containing expanded perlite and inorganic silicate binder with corresponding industrial production procedure was developed. The industrial technology was developed in cooperation between company Trimo d.d. and Faculty of chemistry and chemical technology Ljubljana and among others includes mixing of raw materials, molding, microwave drying and high temperature treatment of the dried board. A new product has low density (130 – 160 kg/m3), good mechanical properties and durability and can be used in various fields where inorganic thermal insulation is required. The current work presents the experimental study of the final process during plate production – high temperature treatment with sintering. During thermal treatment of the board, certain shrinkage is required to obtain sufficient mechanical properties and durability. Controlling the process of high temperature thermal treatment is the key to achieve the right balance between low final density of the board and its good mechanical properties.
