Abstract UNIFLUX V90 is a continuous flux-cored welding electrode (wire) developed to weld high-strength low-alloy steels, but it may be used to weld other low-alloy steels and carbon steels. It is used to deposit typically 2.40% nickel steel weld metal with good low-temperature impact properties. Welding is protected by a shielding atmosphere of either 75% argon-25% carbon dioxide or 100% carbon dioxide. Uniflux V90 is used widely in shipbuilding and other fabricating industries. It provides around 88,000 psi tensile strength and around 26 food-pounds Charpy V-notch impact at 60 F. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-355. Producer or source: Unicore Inc., United Nuclear Corporation.

JB800 steel has grain boundary allotriomorphic ferrite and granular bainite (FGBA/BG), and it is a kind of high strength low alloy steels, which has simple produce procedure, lower cost and excelled property. The law of microstructure transformation in CGHAZ, hardness, and impact toughness in HAZ of JB800 steel were studied by means of thermal simulation. The test results show that under the general condition of welding process (t8/5=5~50s), microstructure of CGHAZ is composed of mixture microstructure of Martensite and Bainite and with the increase of cooling rate, the content of Martensite will decrease, but that of Bainite will increase; when t8/5 is 20s, CGHAZ zone have better impact toughness, which is composed of 95% Martensite and 5% Bainite. Therefore t8/5 should be controlled at about 20s to get better impact toughness.

Abstract UNIFLUX 90 is a continuous flux-cored welding electrode (wire) for welding in carbon dioxide shielding gas in the flat groove and horizontal fillet positions. It was developed to weld high-strength low-alloy steels, but it can be used successfully to weld other low-alloy steels and carbon steels. It is used to deposit typically 2.40% nickel steel weld metal with good low-temperature impact properties. Uniflux 90 is used widely in shipbuilding and other fabricating industries. It provides around 85,000 psi tensile strength and around 25 foot-pounds Charpy V-notch impact at -60 F. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on low temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-362. The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of hot work reduction ratio on the hardness and impact toughness of different grades of low alloy steels. The effect of hot rolling and hot forging with different reduction ratios on the hardness and impact toughness properties will be studied. An extensive study will be carried out to investigate the effect of alloying additions and TMT parameters on the hardness and impact toughness of heat-treated low alloy steels. An understanding of the combined effect of TMT and heat treatment on the hardness and impact toughness of the low alloy steels would help in selecting conditions required to achieve optimum mechanical properties and alloy high strength to weight ratio.

A new lower cost 600MPa TMCP steel with high strength, good low temperature impact toughness, low yield ratio and excellent weldability has been developed successfully by design of alloy composition and thermal mechanical control process technology, and the welding heat affected zone(HAZ) have been investigated. The systematic studies show that the new developed steels gather high strength, high low temperature toughness, good seismic performance(low yield ratio) and excellent weldability, and the base steels have a good match of strength and toughness. A large number of fine acicular ferrite in HAZ can ensure that the welding plate has high strength and good low temperature impact toughness. The comprehensive performance of steel can meet fully the high-technical requirements of large-scale engineering.
