This contribution demonstrates the application of the new Design Method Validation System ( DMVS) for the validation of engineering design methods in product development. The application example is a case from the medical branch. The product design method Design for Mass Adaptation ( DfMAd) with individualization and modification steps as triggers is compared to an adapted design method with product individualization but without modification triggers. This experimental study was conducted in accordance with the DMVS procedure. Measured outcomes refer to the usefulness, applicability and acceptance of the design method DfMAd. Two groups of student participants were compared to each other through research tools based on quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. Findings show that the considered DfMAd phase successfully leads to the desired benefit for the consideration of variant-oriented alternatives, thus confirming the test hypothesis. In the example of a product, a crutch, a high treatment quality can be achieved by specific adaptability of the product. In addition, it is shown that DMVS is suitable for the development of experiments and that the data collection means are differently suited for the validation of the three criteria.

Along with the increasing popularity of Project-Based Learning (PBL), teachers are aware of the benefits of PBL to implement it in their classroom. The literature has shown that the use of PBL can enhance students' skills, ability, and interest while learning because it focuses on students learning process than the teaching process. However, in a context in Indonesia, there is still a lack of research perceptions of PBL especially in the Critical reading class and collected data to determine if PBL has positive impacts on students learning in the university. The research is aimed at investigating students' perceptions about PBL by implementing a half-semester project in the Critical Reading class. This study employed a mixed-method that includes both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis by involving undergraduate students of the 4th semester who take a critical reading class in Universitas Sebelas Maret. It is expected to show us an example of PBL practice in critical reading class and how students thought about its implementation and improvement. This study provides a students' perceptions of PBL in critical reading class. The results add to the findings and discussion on what makes the method of teaching PBL more successful and have practical implications for classroom teaching.

This study aims to reveal a number of determinants of financial not independent be the cause of the elderly in disadvantaged areas. The study was designed in the format of mixed method, wherein in the first stage of qualitative data collection to identify a number of determinants of the causes of the financial not independent elderly. All variables are declared invalid later developed into quantitative data collection instrument at a later stage. The results of different Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to see the differences between the determinants of independent elderly and elderly are not independent. Then performed logistic regression analysis to see the effect of each determinant to provide empirical evidence on the probability not independent elderly. The results showed that the only factor of land ownership, health

This study seeks to identify the obstacles and opportunities involved in setting up a bilingual education system and to identify the challenges and benefits associated with the daily experience of maintaining a bilingual education model. This study discusses the benefits of developing a bilingual education program and what these programs can offer regarding concerns related to the lives of minority people in Turkey. Explanatory sequential mixed method was used for this study. The first phase of this study was a survey that measured the perspectives of educators regarding potential bilingual education curricula in Turkey. The second phase comprised a qualitative data collection process to expand on the findings of quantitative results. For quantitative data collection, 140 participants responded the survey instrument. Participants included 96 males and 44 females. For qualitative data collection, eight participants were interviewed. Both quantitative and qualitative data reflected the benefits of a bilingual education program. First, minority students who are taught by means of a bilingual education program can protect their linguistic knowledge, cultural heritage, ethnic, and religious identity. Second, they can increase their understanding of linguistic and cultural diversity. Third, school attendance at the primary school level could be increased. Fourth, a bilingual program could contribute to the reduction of inequalities.

National and international administrative actors interact via coordination processes that are often informal, in which they exercise power to accumulate critical resources or push their agendas. Supported by quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis techniques, this work sheds light on factors that facilitate the successful exercise of power in the energy sector. It looks not only at corporate factors, such as personnel, but also at individual characteristics, such as work experience. A central finding of the study shows that the successful exercise of power is not conditioned by individual corporate factors, but is made possible by a combination of different factors.
