Cloud manufacturing is a new service-oriented smart manufacturing paradigm, and it provides a new product development model in which users are enabled to configure, select, and utilize customized manufacturing service on demand. Cloud manufacturing is fully recognized as one of the most important manufacturing modes yet created and has received considerable attention in recent years. In practical scenarios, due to the diversity and uncertainty of manufacturing resource, the cloud manufacturing platform should have the ability of manufacturing risk evaluation to search a suitable alternative resource when certain original manufacturing nodes failed suddenly. Such ability may reduce the probability of the alternative resource failing to the lowest and avoid the manufacturing process/system from complete collapse. It ensures the cloud manufacturing be a reliable, robust and flexible manufacturing system with strong self-repair ability. In this article, a new risk evaluation method termed Extension Evaluation based on Reciprocal Judging Matrix with Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (EE-RJMTFN) is proposed. According to the frame of extension theory, the proposed method provides not only the risk level but also the related correlation degree that describes the deviation from the standard risk level. Moreover, the risk index weight definition based on reciprocal judging matrix with triangular fuzzy numbers can better meet user’s customized demand. The results of a case study illustrate the implementation of the proposed method.

Risk analysis of shrinking and swelling of expansive soils and improved expansive soils with lime (IESL) for airport runway projection is a complex uncertainty problem. To select the rational foundation treatment plan and ensure the safe operation of runway, herein combined with the features of expansive soils in the runway area of Xinqiao international airport of Hefei, a novel risk analysis method was proposed to classify shrinkage and swell of expansive soils and IESLs by means of coupling set pair analysis with stochastic simulation of triangular fuzzy numbers. A function of six elements connection number was introduced to depict hierarchy and fuzziness of membership between the evaluation sample and the classification standard. Moreover, triangular fuzzy numbers simulated by a stochastic simulation method were presented to specify the component coefficients of discrepancy degree. Then a risk analysis model was described to calculate reliable degree corresponding to a confidence interval. Finally, comparisons of shrinkage and swell for foundation treatment plans of different lime content were conducted. The results will provide basis for the risk design and risk management of runway project on the expansive soils.

In the present era, technology is developing rapidly. Smartphones play a significant part in people’s lives. However, the research on smartphones mainly focuses on the area of technological realization. The purposes of this study were to examine the relationship between the various rear cameras in smartphones and consumer perceptions, and to understand consumers’ purchasing intentions and preferences. Through the methods of multidimensional scaling (MDS), factor analysis and triangular fuzzy numbers, the visual images of the smartphone rear cameras were analyzed and discussed. The results indicate that the visual images taken by different shapes of rear camera are quite distinct in the categories of innovative and fashionable, and simple and pure, but less distinct in the categories of harmonious and ordered, premium and technical, and superior and valuable. Through a comprehensive comparison, four groups whose images were similar were created. The outcome effectively reflects the potential consumer demands for smartphone rear camera patterns, providing insights for design practices in the smartphone industry.
