AbstractThis three-wave study examined whether the pattern of associations of job demands and job resources with work engagement and mental health depends on personality types. In a representative sample of the German workforce (N = 13,665), the Big Five personality traits could be used to cluster participants into five personality types: ordinary, resilient, strained, overcontrolled, and undercontrolled. As predicted, job demands were associated with mental health and job resources were primarily associated with work engagement. However, these relationships differed across personality types. We conclude that research and practice could take a more personality-driven stance towards employee perceptions of job demands and job resources and their associations with work engagement and mental health.

Perceived Job Challenge: Development of a measure Perceived Job Challenge: Development of a measure A measure of perceived challenge was developed, and its psychometric qualities were investigated in two studies. Perceived challenge consisted of three factors: positive stimulation, competence testing, and uncertainty. These factors were found to be reliable and showed good convergent validity. The non-significant correlations between perceived challenge and the Big Five personality traits agreeableness and neuroticism indicated good discriminant validity. The criterium validity of this measure was good as well. The positive stimulation dimension in particular showed to correlate high with employees’ work attitudes. This measure of perceived challenge seems useful for research and practice.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the measures taken to contain it have substantial consequences for many people, resulting in negative effects on individual well-being and mental health. In the current study, we examined whether individual changes in perceived stress relative to pre-pandemic levels depended on differences in behavior, appraisal, and experience of pandemic-related constraints. In addition, we tested whether this potential relationship was moderated by personality traits. We conducted an online survey during the end of the first lockdown in Germany in spring 2020, and assessed pandemic-related individual consequences as well as perceived stress. These data were related to the big five personality traits and to ratings of perceived stress obtained from the same participants in a study conducted before the outbreak of the pandemic, using the same standardized stress questionnaires. There was no overall increase, but a large interindividual variety in perceived stress relative to pre-pandemic levels. Increased stress was associated especially with strong feelings of missing. This relationship was moderated by agreeableness, with more agreeable people showing a higher association of the feeling of missing and the increase of perceived stress. In addition, openness and conscientiousness were positively correlated with an increase in stress. The results highlight the importance of considering personality and individual appraisals when examining the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on perceived stress and well-being.

This study aims to determine the factors that influence overconfidence in student investors in Yogyakarta. This study explores the relationship between demographic factors (sex, age, education) and big five personality traits (agreeableness, concientiousness, extraversion, neuroticism, openness) with overconfidence. Primary data collected from student investors through questionnaires. The statistical method used is chi-square to determine the relationship between demographic factors and overconfidence. Regression method to determine the relationship between personality types with overconfidence. Analysis using SPSS for Windows 20 on 100 sample sizes. The results of the regression analysis showed that there was an influence between concientiousness, extroversion and openness personality type variables on overconfidence. Agreeableness and neuroticism have no effect on overconfidence. The study also found an influence between demographic factors (sex, age, education) and overconfidence.

BackgroundAggression against GPs has increased in the past decade. Depending on experience, interpretation, and personality, the interpretation of aggressive patient behaviour will differ among doctors.AimTo investigate how often GPs experience aggression in a 1-year time span and what the relationship is between the GP's personality (based on the 'Big Five' personality traits) and the reporting of aggression. Secondly, to investigate how personality is related to feeling safe.Design & settingFlemish (Belgian Federal State) GPs were questioned in a cross-sectional design by online survey. GPs were recruited and questioned in their professional environment.MethodOutcome measures were the 'Big Five' personality traits ('reserved' versus 'outgoing', 'compassionate' versus 'challenging', 'efficient' versus 'careless', 'confident' versus 'nervous', and 'cautious' versus 'innovative', based on Cattel's 'Big Five' model of personality), the type of aggression, the reporting of aggression, and feeling safe.ResultsBoth (n = 247) male and female doctors considered physical contact and verbal intimidation as aggression. Female doctors were more likely to consider sexual harassment as aggression. The majority of GPs were confronted with verbal aggression. More than half considered physical aggression as the most threatening. GPs with 'reserved' and 'careless' personality types were more likely to experience aggression. GPs with 'innovative', 'challenging', or 'confident' personality types were also at increased risk, but to a lesser extent than those with 'reserved' and 'careless' personalities. GPs with 'efficient' and 'innovative' personalities were more likely to report incidents. Male GPs and those with 'efficient' personalities felt safer. GPs with 'confident' and 'cautious' personalities were more likely to feel unsafe.ConclusionThe results of this study might help future interventions and support strategies (designed to prevent aggressive incidents or help GPs cope with them) to target the vulnerable groups. Further research should therefore explore the results of these data in depth and on a larger sample size.

A personality trait is a specific pattern of thought, thinking, or performing that manages to be faithful over time and beyond essential places. The Big Five—Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism and Openness to Practice are a set of five broad, bipolar quality dimensions that establish the most extensively used design of personality construction. Earlier investigations revealed a growing interest in defining the personality and behavior of people in fields such as career development, personalized health assistance, counseling, mental disorder analysis, and the detection of physical diseases with personality shift symptoms. Modern methods of discovering the Big-Five personality types include completing a survey, that takes an impractical amount of time and cannot be used often. This paper provides a survey on detecting of big five personality traits based on facial features recognition using TensorFlow mechanism. And also, various methods to detect big five personality traits are discussed in this paper. Finally, the graph provides a comparison between various detection of big five personality traits on facial expressions.
