The paper considers the long-term spatial and temporal air temperature variability on the Kola Peninsula according to 26 hydro-meteorological stations and the ice regime of rivers according to 13 hydrological stations for 1950—2018 (base period 1950—1980, and control period 1981—2018). The cold season of the year on the Kola Peninsula lasts from October to the first decade of May, the average temperature for the season is –6.2°C. The average increase in air temperature during the cold season was 1.1 °C.

AbstractSpatial correlations between Alpine high-elevation and European low-elevation instrumental air temperatures are computed to assess the spatial representativity of a high-Alpine ice-core isotope proxy temperature record. the correlation analyses indicate that air-temperature records at Alpine ice-core drill sites are representative for central Europe, particularly in summer. While Alpine ice cores generally show a large scattering in the conserved section of the year, long-term records from low-accumulation sites consist almost solely of summer precipitation and thus reflect isotope proxy summer-temperature variability. However, correlation between seasonal and annual instrumental air temperature indicates that summer temperature variability provides an adequate approach to annual temperature variability. Comparison of long-term ice-core δ18O records from Colle Gnifetti (4450ma.s.l.), Monte Rosa, Western Alps, with local instrumental summer temperatures inferred from an instrumental network shows good agreement in the long-term scale. Thus Alpine long-term ice-core δ18O records are representative for central European air-temperature variability.

The spatial analysis of distribution and quantity of Hyphantria cunea Drury, 1973 across Ukraine since 1952 till 2016 regarding the values of annual absolute temperatures of ground air is performed using the Gis-technologies. The long-term pest dissemination data (Annual reports…, 1951–1985; Surveys of the distribution of quarantine pests ..., 1986–2017) and meteorological information (Meteorological Yearbooks of air temperature the surface layer of the atmosphere in Ukraine for the period 1951-2016; Branch State of the Hydrometeorological Service at the Central Geophysical Observatory of the Ministry for Emergencies) were used in the present research. The values of boundary negative temperatures of winter diapause of Hyphantria cunea, that unable the development of species’ subsequent generation, are received. Data analyses suggests almost complete elimination of winter diapausing individuals of White American Butterfly (especially pupae) under the air temperature of −32°С. Because of arising questions on the time of action of absolute minimal air temperatures, it is necessary to ascertain the boundary negative temperatures of winter diapause for White American Butterfly. It is also necessary to perform the more detailed research of a corresponding biological material with application to the freezing technics, giving temperature up to −50°С, with the subsequent analysis of the received results by the punched-analysis.

Trends over the past 25 years indicate that Argentina’s growth in its grain crop productivity has largely been supported by the depletion of the extensive fertility of its Pampean soils. Long-term research provides insight into sustainable nutrient management strategies ready for wide-scale adoption.

This article deals with the issue of North-Eastern India, its current social and economic problems in the context of long-term demonstrations of the ethnic separatism. The main aim of the research implies systematic analysis and identification of key factors and reasons perpetuating separatism in NER as well as resource search which determines Indian strategy in solving this problem. The first part of the article is devoted to separatism peculiarities in the region which remains withdrawn and underexplored in many respects. Apart from this, the author provides a quite detailed analysis of negative mentality of the certain part of NER population which justifiably reproaches New Delhi for “discrimination” and inability to solve many problems of the region. Then the author paid the detailed attention to these problems of NER modern society (ethnic, demographic, economic, transport, social etc.) as well as measures undertaken by the Indian government for its settlement.
