RESUMOObjetivo: conhecer os processos relacionais em uma equipe interdisciplinar de um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial. Método: trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, descritivo e exploratório realizado com nove trabalhadores de um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial, por meio de cinco sessões de grupo focal, tratando-se os dados pela técnica de Análise de Conteúdo, na modalidade Análise Temática. Resultados: emergiram-se as categorias “Características do processo inter-relacional da equipe” e “Processo comunicacional da equipe”. Conclusão: reconheceu-se, pelos participantes do estudo, que o relacionamento na equipe se deve aos bons vínculos, à troca de afetos, à corresponsabilização pelo trabalho e à confiança mediada pela comunicação interpessoal, artefatos básicos para o trabalho em conjunto e benéficos para a prestação de cuidado aos usuários. Method: this is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study conducted with nine staffs of a psychosocial care center, by means of five sessions of focal group, since it is the data by Content Analysis technique, in the modality of Thematic Analysis. Results: the emerged categories “Characteristics of inter-relational process of team” and “Communicational process of the team”. Conclusion: it was acknowledged, by the participants in this study, that the relationship in the team is due to the good bonds, the exchange of affections, to co-responsabilization for the work and the trust mediated by interpersonal communication, basic artifacts to work together and beneficial for the provision of care to users. Conclusión: no fue reconocido por los participantes en el estudio, que la relación en el equipo se debe a los buenos bonos, el intercambio de los afectos, a co-responsabilización del trabajo y de la confianza, la comunicación interpersonal mediada por artefactos básicos para trabajar juntos y beneficiosa para la prestación de atención a los usuarios. Background/aims The Healthy and Active Rehabilitation Programme is a specialist-generalist approach to targeting multimorbidity, which was developed through reconfiguring single-condition rehabilitation pathways. This project examined staff perceptions of the transition from specialist rehabilitation, to delivering this new model. Methods A total of 18 staff from the Healthy and Active Rehabilitation Programme (eight nurses, seven exercise instructors, two physiotherapists, one occupational therapist) participated in three focus groups, generating three key themes: apprehension, confidence growth, and integrated working. Results Despite initial apprehension around the Healthy and Active Rehabilitation Programme's impact on the existing service, the service users, and their clinical roles, staff developed confidence in the service and in their broader roles. Integrated working within the Healthy and Active Rehabilitation Programme has enhanced their awareness of the wider rehabilitation team, and provides valuable peer support. Conclusions This project provides valuable information for single-condition rehabilitation services that are considering delivery of specialist-generalist care to help target multimorbidity.

Breastfeeding is the natural and safe way of feeding small infants, providing nutritional, immunological, psychological and economic recognized and unquestionable advantages. These qualities are especially important in premature infants, because of their vulnerability. Despite highly desirable, there is, in general, little success in breastfeeding preterm infants, especially in special care neonatal units. There are evidences that a high supportive hospital environment, with an interdisciplinary team, makes possible to these infants to be breastfed. In this article, the authors present an up-to-date review about the components of human milk and its unique characteristics, as well as describes aspects that make the breast milk particularly suitable for feeding the premature newborn.

A survey study examined the attitudes of interdisciplinary team members toward public school speech-language programs. Perceptions of clinicians' communication skills and of the clarity of team member roles were also explored. Relationships between educators' attitudes toward our services and various variables relating to professional interactions were investigated. A 64-item questionnaire was completed by 346 randomly selected respondents from a two-state area. Classroom teachers of grades kindergarten through 3, teachers of grades 4 through 6, elementary school principals, school psychologists, and learning disabilities teachers comprised five professional categories which were sampled randomly. Analysis of the results revealed that educators generally had positive attitudes toward our services; however, there was some confusion regarding team member roles and clinicians' ability to provide management suggestions. Implications for school clinicians were discussed.

Background: Assessment of suicide attempters in a general hospital may be influenced by the condition of the patient and the unfavorable circumstances of the hospital environment. Aims: To determine whether the results of a reassessment at home shortly after discharge from hospital differ from the initial assessment in the hospital. Methods: In this prospective study, systematic assessment of 52 suicide attempters in a general hospital was compared with reassessment at home, shortly after discharge. Results: Reassessments at home concerning suicide intent, motives for suicide attempt, and dimensions of psychopathology did not differ significantly from the initial hospital assessment. However, patients’ motives for the suicide attempt had changed to being less impulsive and more suicidal, worrying was significantly higher, and self-esteem was significantly lower. A third of the patients had forgotten their aftercare arrangements and most patients who initially felt no need for additional help had changed their mind at reassessment. Conclusions: Results from this group of suicide attempters suggest that a brief reassessment at home shortly after discharge from hospital should be considered.
