Team Characteristics Moderating Effect on Software Project Completion Time

This study highlights the importance of human factors in software projects developed in capability maturity model (CMM) level software development environments. While software process initiatives help streamline the development process, people factors can influence project outcomes. Using data procured from the International Software Benchmarking Standard Group, the effects of team turnover, team heterogeneity, and team member work experience were examined as they moderate project elapsed time for software projects developed in CMM level software development environments. Team member work experience and team functional heterogeneity were found to have significant moderating effects on project elapsed time to completion. The turnover of members on the team did not have a significant moderating effect on project elapsed time to completion. Previous studies have examined the benefits of raising the level of maturity as identified by the capability maturity model. This study identifies the importance of human factors as they moderate project success.

Edukasi Akuntansi Keuangan Terkait Dengan PSAK 14 Tentang Persediaan

This community service activity aims to provide education to employees of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes for South Sumatra and Bangka Belitung (Kanwil DJP Sumsel Babel) regarding inventory accounting materials in accordance with PSAK 14. In addition, the PKM team also provided additional discussions on PSAK 69 related to agricultural products. The implementation method consists of four stages, namely the preliminary stage in the form of a meeting to discuss technical activities, a preparatory meeting with the employees of the DGT Regional Office of South Sumatra Babel. The second stage is the preparation stage which contains the obligations of each team member including the preparation of materials. The third stage is the stage of implementing activities carried out using Zoom media. The last stage is evaluation and monitoring related to the evaluation of activities and consultancy related to material between participants and the team. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada pegawai Kantor Wilayah Direktorat Jenderal Pajak Sumatera Selatan dan Bangka Belitung (Kanwil DJP Sumsel Babel) terkait materi akuntansi persediaan sesuai dengan PSAK 14. Selain itu, tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) juga memberikan tambahan pembahasan PSAK 69 terkait dengan produk agrikultur. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu tahap pendahuluan berupa rapat internal pembahasan teknis kegiatan, rapat persiapan dengan perwakilan pegawai Kanwil DJP Sumsel Babel. Tahap yang kedua yaitu tahap persiapan yang berisi pembagian kewajiban masing-masing anggota tim termasuk penyiapan materi. Tahap ketiga merupakan tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan media Zoom. Tahap terakhir adalah evaluasi dan monitoring terkait dengan evaluasi kegiatan dan konsultansi terkait materi antara peserta dan Tim.

Team Social Media Usage and Team Creativity: The Role of Team Knowledge Sharing and Team-Member Exchange

Given that work teams have been widely used in a variety of organizations to complete critical tasks and that the use of social media in work teams has been growing, investigating whether and how team social media usage (TSMU) affects team creativity is imperative. However, little research has empirically explored how TSMU affects team creativity. This study divides TSMU into two categories, namely, work-related TSMU and relationship-related TSMU. Basing on communication visibility theory and social exchange theory, this study constructs a moderating mediation model to understand how TSMU affects team creativity. In this model, team knowledge sharing is used as mediating role and team-member exchange (TMX) is used as moderating role. Two-wave research data collected from 641 employees in 102 work teams in Chinese organizations are used for regression analysis. Results show that (1) Work-related TSMU and relationship-related TSMU are positively affect team creativity. (2) Team knowledge sharing plays a partly mediating effect on the relationship between work-related TSMU and team creativity and that between relationship-related TSMU and team creativity. (3) TMX not only positively moderates the indirect effect of work-related TSMU and relationship-related TSMU on team creativity through team knowledge sharing. Theoretical and practical implications are also discussed.

Publishing quantitative careers research: challenges and recommendations

Purpose This article aims to provide prospective authors guidelines that will hopefully enable them to submit more competitive manuscripts to journals publishing careers research.Design/methodology/approach Based on their experience as an author, reviewer and editorial team member, the authors identify the main criteria that a quantitative study must meet to be considered for publication in international peer-reviewed journals covering career-related topics. They emphasize the importance of contributing to the careers literature and of designing the study in accordance with the research question.Findings Manuscripts are rejected because they are insufficiently innovative, and/or because sample, instruments and design are not appropriate to answer the research question at hand. Cross-sectional designs cannot be used to answer questions of mediation but should not be discarded automatically since they can be used to address other types of questions, including questions about nesting, clustering of individuals into subgroups, and to some extent, even causality.Originality/value The manuscript provides an insight into the decision-making process of reviewers and editorial board members and includes recommendations on the use of cross-sectional data.

Overcoming Health Promotion Barriers in Rural Health: A Qualitative Analysis

Weight loss interventions are fraught with difficulties for older adults in rural areas due to transportation difficulties, reduced availability of staff, and lack of programs. Telemedicine can overcome these barriers. A qualitative analysis of data from 44 exit-interviews from a rural-based, older adult weight loss study, informed by thematic analysis, was conducted. Participant’s age was 73 years (73% female) and BMI was 36.5kg/m2. Distance to the site was 24 miles (31 min). Key themes included: a) telemedicine can help improve one’s health, is more practical than in-person visits, is less costly, and time efficient; b) the majority (60%) were initially apprehensive about using telemedicine, a fear that resolved quickly; c) setting up telemedicine was easy and acceptable, despite a quick learning curve; d) having a team member for troubleshooting was important. Using telemedicine in older adults with obesity residing in rural areas should be considered in health promotion interventions.

COVID-19 Prevalence among Czech Dentists

This work evaluates the prevalence of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), a viral infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), among members of the Czech Dental Chamber. The assessment was based on an online questionnaire filled out by 2716 participants, representing 24.3% of all chamber members. Overall, 25.4% of the participants admitted they were diagnosed with COVID-19 by 30 June 2021, with no statistical differences between the sexes. While in the age groups under 50 the reported prevalence was around 30%, with increasing age, it gradually decreased to 15.2% in the group over 70 years. The work environment was identified as a place of contagion by 38.4% of the respondents. The total COVID-19 PCR-verified positivity was 13.9%, revealing a statistically lower prevalence (p = 0.0180) compared with the Czech general population, in which the COVID-19 PCR-verified positivity was ~15.6% (fourth highest rank in the world). The total infection–hospitalization ratio (IHR) was 2.8%, and the median age group of hospitalized individuals was 60–70 years. For respondents older than 60 years, the IHR was 8.7%, and for those under 40 years, it was 0%. Of the respondents, 37.7% admitted that another team member was diagnosed with COVID-19, of which the most frequently mentioned profession was a nurse/dental assistant (81.2%). The results indicate that although the dentist profession is associated with a high occupational risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection, well-chosen antiepidemic measures adopted by dental professionals may outweigh it.

A Case of Mucinous Cystadenoma Carcinoma

Introduction: Mucinous Cystadenoma carcinoma is a type of tumor in the cyst adenocarcinoma grouping it can occur in the breast as well as the ovary. Tumors are normally multiocular with various smooth thin-walled cysts. Within the cyst is found an emergence or cellular debris. Patient History: The female patient 63-year-old who was admitted to AVBRH on the date 21/05/2021 in the obstetric and gynae ward with a chief complaint of generalized weakness, loss of appetite, fever for 2 days 7 days ago, 2-3 fever spikes and burning micturition. All over investigation observed like blood and urine investigation, CT scan of the abdomen, histopathology then the final diagnosis is confirmed as mucinous Cystadenoma carcinoma. Pharmacology: The patient was treated with antibacterial medicine, antibiotics, and diabetics, thyroxin stimulating drugs, etc. Management: Inj. Ceftriaxone 1gm 12 hourly, Inj.-piptaz 4.45 gm, 8 hourly, tab. Gimipride 0.5 mg with tab. Metformin 500 mg 12 hourly, tab. Thyrox 62.5 mcg, tab telmisartan 40 mg with tab. Chlorthalidone 12.512.5 mg 12 hourly, Inj.-pan 40 mg, 12 hourly, Inj.- Neomol 100 ml, and Tablet- nitrofurantoin 6 hourly. Nursing Management: Monitor the vital sign, monitor nutritional status and monitor random blood sugar. Maintained bed rest of patient, managed the pain level of the patient. The patient was assessed for risk of bleeding. Conclusion: The patient was admitted to the hospital with the chief complaint of generalized weakness, loss of appetite, fever for 2 days 7 days ago, 2-3 fever spikes and burning micturition. and the patient was admitted to AVBR Hospital in the obstetric and gynae ward, immediate treatment was started by a health team member and all possible treatments were given and now the patient's condition is satisfactory.
