Abstract The present research proceeding aims at investigating/exploring/sharpening the phenomenological consequences of string theory and holography in particle physics and cosmology. We rely on and elaborate on the recently proposed framework whereby four-dimensional quantum field theories describe all interactions in Nature, and gravity is an emergent and not a fundamental force. New gauge fields, axions, and fermions, which can play the role of right-handed neutrinos, can also emerge in this framework. Preprint: UWThPh 2021-8

Modern computer networks provide satisfying levels of data recording and verification between the treatment planning system (TPS) and the accelerators, while the main weakness of the preparation chain remains the simulation. When a conventional simulator is employed, it may adversely affect the three-dimensional treatment planning system (3DPS) process because of the difficulty to document the leaf positions on the simulator location films and on the patient's skin. With a conventional simulator, hard copies of the DRRs of each field and CT scans at isocenter level are needed. In an attempt to transfer more information displayed from a BEV perspective from the 3DPS to simulator radiographs, this study aimed to reduce the quality loss by using a 2D conventional simulator in a 3DPS process. We realized an acetate photocopy of TPS data for each field, from a BEV perspective, containing: DRR, wire frames of the PTV, organs at risk and MLC aperture. The photocopies, with an appropriate magnification factor to obtain a correct projective value (ratio 1:1) at isocenter level, are carefully placed on the radiographic images on the same hard copy which allows us to better understand possible setup errors and obliges us to correct these. The method provides reliable documentation, facilitates treatment verification, and fulfils the criteria for MLC simulation. It is accurate, simple, and very inexpensive.

General Relativity (GR) and the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics are two enormously successful frameworks for our understanding the fundamental laws of nature. However, these theoretical schemes are widely disconnected, logically independent and unrelated in scope. Yet, GR and SM at some point must intersect, producing claims about phenomena that should be reconciled. Be it as it may, both schemes share a common basic ground: symmetry under local Lorentz transformations. Here, we will focus on the consequences of assuming this feature from the beginning to combine geometry, matter fields and gauge interactions. We give a rough description of how this could be instrumental for the construction of a unified scheme of gravitation and particle physics.

The three-flavor neutrino oscillation paradigm is well established in particle physics thanks to the crucial contribution of accelerator neutrino beam experiments. In this paper, we review the most important contributions of these experiments to the physics of massive neutrinos after the discovery of θ 13 and future perspectives in such a lively field of research. Special emphasis is given to the technical challenges of high power beams and the oscillation results of T2K, OPERA, ICARUS, and NO ν A. We discuss in detail the role of accelerator neutrino experiments in the precision era of neutrino physics in view of DUNE and Hyper-Kamiokande, the program of systematic uncertainty reduction and the development of new beam facilities.

The existence of magnetic monopoles is predicted by many theories of particle physics beyond the standard model. However, in spite of extensive searches, there is no experimental or observational sign of them. I review the role of magnetic monopoles in quantum field theory and discuss their implications for particle physics and cosmology. I also highlight their differences and similarities with monopoles found in frustrated magnetic systems.

The article analyzes the role of basic concepts of operations research in teaching of future bachelor of computer science. On the basis of the analysis it was determined the possible use of modern computer mathematics systems (CMS) as a means of educational process fundamentalization. Singling out the basic concepts of operations research, their understanding through experience of research is integrable component of training, the establishment of inter-subject relationship, the formation of an integrated system of students’ knowledge and understanding of both the theoretical foundations and the ways to use the acquired knowledge in practice. Also the role of CMS in training bachelors of computer science, the directions of the pedagogical use of CMS in studying of operations research are considered.

In the research flat and spatial rod system as a part of many engineering and technical structures were considered. A new construction with a simultaneous increase quality of their design requires finding new ways to improve dynamic analysis and calculation of complex rod systems. It was analyzed, that longitudinal forces consideration when determining discrete dynamical systems free oscillations frequency together with use of modern computer hardware and software systems allows to reduce time for such calculations, and use the innovative schemes and methods that were previously inaccessible through large amounts of computing. The problem of road systems free oscillations frequencies with finite number of freedom degrees in bending with considering of longitudinal forces was considered. The examples of quantitative assessment influence of longitudinal forces on the frequencies of free oscillations were shown.
