As the rapid growth of cities continues to pose a significant threat to the well-being of people, its adverse effects have moved to the forefront of social sustainability. Urban regeneration has become one of the adaptations in solving a social issue. Alongside these interventions, creative placemaking emerges as an evolving field of practice driving a broader agenda for growth and transformation of cities. This paper reviews the concept of creative placemaking as an approach to urban regeneration and theories extracted from planning and urban design literature. The findings provide an understanding of the significant function of social attributes of place in crafting strategies in the creation of successful creative placemaking. Keywords: Urban regeneration; Creative placemaking; Urban places; Social sustainabilityeISSN: 2398-4287 © 2020. The carbon sequestration potential of an unmanaged and previously unstudied Acacia catechu in the Mukundara National Park Rajasthan, by estimating the total aboveground biomass contained in the forest. It turned into observed that the biomass, above ground comprising of stems, branches, and foliage, holds a total of 200 tons per hectare, foremost to a valued 100 tons of carbon being deposited per hectare aboveground. Acacia species consequently has the potential to play a significant function within the mitigation of climate change. The relation among the biomass, M, of each component (stems, branches, and foliage) and the diameter d, of the plant become also studied, by means of fitting allometric equations of the form M = αdβ. It was observed that all components fit this power law relation very well (R2 > 0.7), chiefly the stems (R2 > 0.8) and branches (R2 > 0.9) for which the relation is found to be almost linear.

This study was undertaken to determine the impact of sarcomere length (SL) on the level of cooperative activation of the cardiac myofilament at physiological [Mg2+]. Active force development was measured in skinned rat cardiac trabeculae as a function of free [Ca2+] at five SLs (1.85–2.25 μm; 1 mM free [Mg2+]; 15°C). Only muscle preparations with minimal force rundown during the entire protocol were included in the analysis (average 7.2 ± 1.7%). Median SL was measured by on-line computer video micrometry and controlled within 0.01 μm. Care was taken to ensure a sufficient number of data points in the steep portion of the [Ca2+]-force relationship at every SL to allow for accurate fit of the data to a modified Hill equation. Multiple linear regression analysis of the fit parameters revealed that both maximum, Ca2+-saturated force and Ca2+sensitivity were a significant function of SL ( P < 0.001), whereas the level of cooperativity did not depend on SL ( P = 0.2). Further analysis of the [Ca2+]-force relationships revealed a marked asymmetry that, also, was not affected by SL ( P = 0.2–0.6). Finally, we found that the level of cooperativity in isolated skinned myocardium was comparable to that reported for intact, nonskinned myocardium. Our results suggest that an increase in SL induces an increase in the Ca2+ responsiveness of the cardiac sarcomere without affecting the level of cooperativity.

The vibrant business sector is a dynamic segment for Pakistan’s economic development because it offers employment to a larger population of skilled and unskilled labour; creates foreign reserves through exports; and also satisfies local demand for the products. Moreover, the listed companies perform a significant function in the growth of an economy, however, on pragmatic grounds, access to capital is evidenced as a matter of grave concern for the business sector in Pakistan. Moreover, it has been observed that in order to reduce the firms’ agency costs, managerial ownership is utilized. Hence, in this essence, this research investigates the relationship of political stability, managerial ownership, dividends, sales, and total assets with the firm’s profitability in Pakistan during 2013-2017. The findings depict that the variables of political stability, total assets, dividends, and sales, positively and significantly affect the firm’s profitability, while, managerial ownership is insignificantly associated with profitability.

The mineral asset abuse assumes a significant function in monetary turn of events, yet it additionally causes numerous natural issues, particularly environmental issue. In coal mining, so as to accomplish feasible utilization of these assets, we should give exceptional consideration to eco-ecological insurance. This article first quickly presented the current status of natural designing effect evaluation and afterward talked about the time viability of appraisal through the investigation of its present status, utilizing ecological security check and acknowledgment in coal mining ventures. The creators consider that one-time evaluation of ecological effect on the coal tasks and "three synchronous" acknowledgment of the coal ventures executed in china as of now isn't sensible.

Comedy has become an increasingly prevalent feature of Gothic in the twenty-first century, and thus Gothic comedy can be found across a multitude of media. This chapter surveys the kinds of comedy that appear in contemporary Gothic (such as sitcom, stand-up, romantic comedy, mock-documentary) and argues that, in the twenty-first century, Gothic comedy often functions to travesty culturally significant concepts of family, domesticity and childhood in the light of a liberal identity politics. Beginning with twentieth-century precedents such as television sitcom The Addams Family (1964–6) and Edward Gorey’s illustrations, the chapter analyses a range of contemporary texts including The League of Gentlemen (1999–2017), Corpse Bride (2005), Ruby Gloom (2006–8),Hotel Transylvania (2012) and What We Do in the Shadows (2014). It concludes that far from being frivolous or disposable, contemporary Gothic comedy forms a politically significant function in its tendency to undermine right-wing ideologies of the family and promote a celebratory politics of difference and inclusion.
