AbstractIn the present work, the screen printing technique has been used to deposit thick films of Zr0.84Y016O1.92 (8YSZ). In order to control the final porosity in view of a specific application (SOFCs or gas sensor), an experimental design based on analysis of variances (ANOVA) has been carried out. From this, we were able to determine the influence of several technological parameters on films porosity and grain size. The films obtained have been analysed with both Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Focused Ion Beam (FIB) combined with SEM. We show that only the combination of experimental design and advanced observation technique such as Focused Ion Beam allowed us to extract significant information for the improvement of the deposition process.

The Randomized Convective Cloud Seeding Experiment in Extended Areas (EXPerimento aleatorizado de siembra de nubes en AReas EXtensas, EXPAREX) is being implemented in Camagüey, Cuba and adjacent regions from August 2005 as the continuation of a previous successful experiment (PCMAT), held in the period 1982-1990. The first season of the experiment was exploratory and was focused on upgrading facilities, equipment and software, including an An-26 instrumented aircraft and the 10-cm MRL-5 weather radar. It was aimed at implementing methodologies and testing the application of the experimental design, excluding the randomization scheme, which was scheduled to be started in the second experimental year, in the rainy season of 2006. The field operations of the confirmatory phase started only in October, 2006, when seven experimental units, treated under a randomized scheme, were qualified. In the 2007 experiment, 13 more experimental units were processed. The general description, experimental design, procedures and characterization of the first two experimental seasons of the confirmatory phase of EXPAREX are presented in this work. Is it shown that the experimental clouds processed in the first two seasons of the experiment have similar characteristics to the PCMAT clouds, so that the conclusions of previous physical research are applicable.

The greatest dealon the article have to approach the experimental design, dimensions and formulations in Silicon Carbide and Epoxy Matrix Radiator. The experiment prepared as per the fabrication chart behind that known about the characterization of material and proposal layout of fabrication work. Among the research work, concentrated the formation of silicon carbide epoxy matrix radiator in the given configuration and composition prepared as a high thermal conductive Epoxy resin is mixed at the ratio of 20wt% of epoxy resin 80% of Silicon Carbide. As silicon carbide has higher thermal conductivity and lowerthermal expansion than Aluminium and then the experimented result determined by the rate of heat transfer analysis such as the mode of heat transfer like Conduction, Convection and Radiation of the materials (Aluminium 6061 and Sic + Epoxy Resin). The following heat transfer characteristics formulated and calculated as per the given design, dimension and configuration of the materials.

ABSTRACT: In literature, there are few studies evaluating the response of different bean cultivars to herbicides, particularly the ALS enzyme inhibitors. The objective of this study was to evaluate the selectivity of common bean cultivars to the herbicide ethoxysulfuron and to select cultivars that are more tolerant to it. An experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, in a completely randomized experimental design with four replications. Factors consisted in 20 bean cultivars (IPR Eldorado, IPR Siriri, IPR Gralha, IPR 81, IPR Uirapuru, IPR Colibri, IPR Tuiuiú, BRS Esplendor, IPR Tangará, IPR Juriti, IPR Corujinha, IPR Andorinha, IPR Curió, BRS Campeiro, BRS Pérola, BRS Notável, BRS Estilo, UTF 3, UTF 5 e UTF 6), and four doses of ethoxysulfuron (0, 50, 100 and 200 g ha-1) were used. At the dose of 200 g ha-1, the reduction of the shoot dry matter of plants ranged from 30 to 80%, indicating that there was high variability in the response of bean cultivars to the herbicide. The bean cultivars classified as more tolerant to ethoxysulfuron are: IPR 81, IPR Uirapuru, BRS Estilo, IPR Gralha and BRS Pérola, while the less tolerant cultivars are: IPR Eldorado, IPR Tuiuiú, IPR Tangará, IPR Curió, UTF 3, UTF 5 and BRS Esplendor.
