The high-precision roll attitude estimation of the decoupled canards relative to the projectile body based on the bipolar hall-effect sensors is proposed. Firstly, the basis engineering positioning method based on the edge detection is introduced. Secondly, the simplified dynamic relative roll model is established where the feature parameters are identified by fuzzy algorithms, while the high-precision real-time relative roll attitude estimation algorithm is proposed. Finally, the trajectory simulations and grounded experiments have been conducted to evaluate the advantages of the proposed method. The positioning error is compared with the engineering solution method, and it is proved that the proposed estimation method has the advantages of the high accuracy and good real-time performance.

Abstract Ultra-wideband (UWB) has broad application prospects in the field of indoor localization. In order to make up for the shortcomings of ultra-wideband that is easily affected by the environment, a positioning method based on the fusion of infrared vision and ultra-wideband is proposed. Infrared vision assists locating by identifying artificial landmarks attached to the ceiling. UWB uses an adaptive weight positioning algorithm to improve the positioning accuracy of the edge of the UWB positioning coverage area. Extended Kalman filter (EKF) is used to fuse the real-time location information of the two. Finally, the intelligent mobile vehicle-mounted platform is used to collect infrared images and UWB ranging information in the indoor environment to verify the fusion method. Experimental results show that the fusion positioning method is better than any positioning method, has the advantages of low cost, real-time performance, and robustness, and can achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy.

The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning technology using smartphones can be applied to many aspects of mass life, and the world’s first dual-frequency GNSS smartphone Xiaomi MI 8 represents a new trend in the development of GNSS positioning technology with mobile phones. The main purpose of this work is to explore the best real-time positioning performance that can be achieved on a smartphone without reference stations. By analyzing the GNSS raw measurements, it is found that all the three mobile phones tested have the phenomenon that the differences between pseudorange observations and carrier phase observations are not fixed, thus a PPP (precise point positioning) method is modified accordingly. Using a Xiaomi MI 8 smartphone, the modified real-time PPP positioning strategy which estimates two clock biases of smartphone was applied. The results show that using multi-GNSS systems data can effectively improve positioning performance; the average horizontal and vertical RMS positioning error are 0.81 and 1.65 m respectively (using GPS, BDS, and Galileo data); and the time required for each time period positioning errors in N and E directions to be under 1 m is less than 30s.

Autonomous posture detection and self-localization of roadheaders is the key to automatic tunneling and roadheader robotization. In this paper, a multi-sensor based positioning method, involving an inertial system for altitude angles measurement, total station for coordinate measurement, and sensors for measuring the real-time length of the hydraulic cylinder is presented for roadheader position measurement and posture detection. Based on this method, a positioning model for roadheader and cutter positioning is developed. Additionally, flexible trajectory planning methods are provided for automatic cutting. Based on the positioning model and the trajectory planning methods, an automatic cutting procedure is proposed and applied in practical tunneling. The experimental results verify the high accuracy and efficiency of both the positioning method and the model. Furthermore, it is indicated that arbitrary shapes can be generated automatically and precisely according to the planned trajectory, employing the automatic cutting procedure. Therefore, unmanned tunneling can be realized by employing the proposed automatic cutting process.
