3-Acyloxy-5-(2-phenylethenyl)-2-cyclohexen-1-ones II were prepared by O-acylation of 5-(2-phenylethenyl)-1,3-cycloxanedione (I). Treatment of II with AlCl3 resulted in rearrangement of the acyl group to the double bond of the phenylethenyl grouping followed by cyclization to 8-acyl-7-phenylbicyclo[2.2.2]octane-2,6-diones III. Their structure was evidenced by analysis of the 1H and 13C NMR spectral data.

Rhizophora spp. particleboard with the incorporation of lignin and soy flour as binders were fabricated and the influence of different percentages of lignin and soy flour (0%, 6% and 12%) on the physico-mechanical properties of the particleboard were studied. The samples were characterised by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and internal bonding. The results stipulated that the addition of binders in the fabrication of the particleboard did not change the functional groups according to the FTIR spectrum. For XRD, addition of binders did not reveal any major transformation within the composites. SEM and EDX analyses for all percentages of binders added showed no apparent disparity; however, it is important to note that the incorporation of binders allows better bonding between the molecules. In XRF analysis, lower percentage of chlorine in the adhesive-bonded samples may be advantageous in maintaining the natural properties of the particleboard. In internal bonding, increased internal bond strength in samples with binders may indicate better structural integrity and physico-mechanical strength. In conclusion, the incorporation of lignin and soy flour as binders may potentially strengthen and fortify the particleboard, thus, can be a reliable phantom in radiation dosimetry applications.

A new neoflavonoid, named as (7 R)-(-)-3′,5-dihydroxy-4′,2,4-trimethoxy-dalbergiquinol (1) and a new phenanthrenedione, named as 3′,7-dihydroxy-3,6- dimethoxy-9-phenyl-1,4-phenanthrenedione (2), together with 4 known compounds, 5- O-methyldalbergiphenol (3), 3′,7-dihydroxy-4′,3,6-trimethoxy-9-phenyl-1,4-phenanthrenedione (4), (+)-obtusafuran (5), and melanoxin (6) were isolated from the heartwood of Dalbergia melanoxylon. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectral evidence, as well as by comparison with literature data. Moreover, compound 1 showed a protective effect on hypoxia/reoxygenation injury in H9c2 at 10.0 μM by decreasing lactate dehydrogenase and malondialdehyde activity and enhancing superoxide dismutase activity.

Abstract[68Ga]PSMA-11 is a prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeting radiopharmaceutical for diagnostic PET imaging. Its application can be extended to targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT). In this study, we characterize the biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of [68Ga]PSMA-11 in PSMA-positive and negative (22Rv1 and PC3, respectively) tumor-bearing mice and subsequently estimated its internal radiation dosimetry via voxel-level dosimetry using a dedicated Monte Carlo simulation to evaluate the absorbed dose in the tumor directly. Consequently, this approach overcomes the drawbacks of the conventional organ-level (or phantom-based) method. The kidneys and urinary bladder both showed substantial accumulation of [68Ga]PSMA-11 without exhibiting a washout phase during the study. For the tumor, a peak concentration of 4.5 ± 0.7 %ID/g occurred 90 min after [68Ga]PSMA-11 injection. The voxel- and organ-level methods both determined that the highest absorbed dose occurred in the kidneys (0.209 ± 0.005 Gy/MBq and 0.492 ± 0.059 Gy/MBq, respectively). Using voxel-level dosimetry, the absorbed dose in the tumor was estimated as 0.024 ± 0.003 Gy/MBq. The biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of [68Ga]PSMA-11 in various organs of subcutaneous prostate cancer xenograft model mice were consistent with reported data for prostate cancer patients. Therefore, our data supports the use of voxel-level dosimetry in TRT to deliver personalized dosimetry considering patient-specific heterogeneous tissue compositions and activity distributions.
