The present report provides information on 20 pontoniine shrimp taxa from the island of Socotra, collected by Dr Michael Apel, including two new species, of the genera Dactylonia Fransen and Periclimenoides Bruce. Thirteen species are reported from Yemen for the first time, 8 are newly recorded from the north western Indian Ocean. The record of Periclimenoides is the first occurrence of this genus in the western Indian Ocean. The number of pontoniine shrimps known from the north west Indian Ocean is now increased from 32 to 44 taxa.

Three water masses have been identified from maxima and minima in temperature-salinity diagrams for intermediate depths of the south-east Indian Ocean. (1) The Antarctic Intermediate occurred as a salinity minimum within the density range of 7.00-27.28 σt. (2) The North-West Indian Intermediate was found as a salinity maximum within the σt range 27.20-27.50. (3) The Banda Intermediate, lying below the North-West Indian Intermediate, had the characteristic of a salinity minimum within the σt range of 27.28-27.59. Preformed phosphate has been found useful as a third conservative property for the identification of major paths of spreading. The distribution and paths of spreading of the three water masses are shown in charts of the Indian Ocean east of 90E.

Bengkulu is a Province in Sumatra which is located at coordinates 5 ° 40 '- 2 ° 0' LS 40 '- 104 ° 0' E with an area of 19,788.70 km2 (7,640.46) which borders: North: West Sumatra, South : Lampung, West: Indian Ocean, East: Jambi and South Sumatra. This study aims to determine the effect of the number of labor force, the number of poor people and the provincial minimum wage on TPAK in Bengkulu province. Of these three variables the number of workforce is positively and significantly related to the TPAK of Bengkulu province, the variable of the number of poor people is positively and not significantly related to the TPAK and the Provincial Minimum Wage is negatively and significantly related to the TPAK in Bengkulu Province.

AbstractToday, resilience in the face of cyclone risks has become a crucial issue for our societies. With climate change, the risk of strong cyclones occurring is expected to intensify significantly and to impact the way of life in many countries. To meet some of the associated challenges, the interdisciplinary ReNovRisk programme aims to study tropical cyclones and their impacts on the South-West Indian Ocean basin. This article is a presentation of the ReNovRisk programme, which is divided into four areas: study of cyclonic hazards, study of erosion and solid transport processes, study of water transfer and swell impacts on the coast, and studies of socio-economic impacts. The first transdisciplinary results of the programme are presented together with the database, which will be open access from mid-2021.
