The study deals with the academic profession in China. Its characteristics and relationship with changing social institutions are explored by a historical approach and from an institutional perspective, which includes two elements of government and organization. The major findings of this study are summarized below. First, in accordance with China’s legal framework, public and private higher education institutions are categorized as different legal entities, a difference that leads to favourable conditions for the academic profession in the public sector and to less favourable conditions in the private sector, and which also obstructs personnel flow and competition between the two sectors. Second, the personnel system has changed significantly since 1978, when it was reformed and the policies became more open. This change is largely led by the central government. As regards faculty hiring and promotion, qualification and performance are emphasized over seniority. As regards remuneration and benefits, the egalitarian approach has gradually been replaced by income gains based on performance. Finally, evidence shows that China’s higher education institutions has evolved from so-calleddanweigoverned under a planned system to organizations ruled by the market system, which has caused the academic profession to evolve from adanweiprofession into a more organizational one.

There is a great demand to improve the research landscape among Higher Education Institutions in Cebu City. The objective of the research survey is to provide an inventory of research capability among the HEIs. Thereon, the data can be used to assist each HEI in the formulation of strategy to strengthen its research function. The study used the descriptive survey type of research that ascertains the research capability of the selected public and private higher education institutions in Cebu City. A self-made research operation profile survey questionnaire and interview guide sheet was utilized. The findings revealed that a very important institutional support in cultivating and nurturing the research climate are research incentives. Same importance in boosting the researchers would be the provision of facilities and equipment in support of research function. Primary facilities provide better research sources and output, while incentives provide good attraction to undergo research. HEIs research activities obtained their funding from their institutional budgets; however, they generate other funding sources and linkages to external agencies to support research initiatives. Aggregate of faculty and student researchers were considered to be important resources in research undertaking. An often neglected, but equally important aspect of research is the dissemination and utilization of research results. Research team development, evaluation of research and dissemination of research were the most common management needs of Cebu research directors. The public and private HEIs were generally capable in their research functions and undertakings.    The objective of the study was to investigate the extent to which some of the TQM standards were applied in the faculties of Khartoum State University and Sudan International Private University from the point of view of the faculty and the effect of the variables (age, gender, academic qualifications, years of experience, On the answers of the sample, and used the descriptive statistical method. The study was carried out with the following results: The application of TQM in some of the faculties of Khartoum State University and Sudan University of the World (3.46) with a total average of (3.46 of 5) with (large) estimates. According to the fields, the field of quality requirements in education has a general average of (3.84) with a large estimate; followed by the follow- Thirdly, the field of human resources development was average (3.37), and lastly, Decision-making and community service an average of (3.03), all of which estimates (medium). The results of the study showed that there are no differences in the application of some TQM standards in Sudanese higher education institutions due to variables (years of experience, age, scientific qualification and gender). In light of the results of the study, a number of recommendations were made to increase awareness and activate the implementation of some of the TQM standards in Khartoum State University Colleges, Sudan Private International University and all Sudanese higher education institutions. And attention to the educational environment within the university and methods of communication and communication. And to spread the culture of quality to managers and deans first to convince them of the importance of change and improve the performance and the importance of quality standards in institutions of public and private higher education as well as higher institutes

It aims to identify how the phenomenon of violence is themed in the curricular components of undergraduate nursing courses of public and private higher education institutions in Northeastern of Brazil. This is a descriptive and exploratory study, with documentary design and qualitative approach, based on the identification of the terms violence/aggression/abuse/aggressive/abusive in discipline menus available online from higher education institutions in northeastern Brazil. The data were organized and processed by the IraMuTeQ software and analyzed in the light of the relevant literature. In total, 412 nursing graduate institutions were found, in which 49 had documents available online, and, of these, 21 had the term violence. The processing of the syllabuses in the program resulted in significant use (79.37%) originating from the Descending Hierarchical Classification, seven classes that reveal the highlight of the approach of violence directed at the female public and in this context, the approach to violence against women was associated with sexual and reproductive aspects, and in a secondary way, it integrated the perspective of female vulnerabilities, power relations, consequences of violence and nursing care to cope with the phenomenon. Violence against children and adolescents and the discussion of violence in the contexts of collective health and health promotion were also approached in a less intense way. There was a predominance of the approach to violence aimed at women’s health, under a biological approach, with a deficit in the transversality of the contents. However, it is important to highlight potentialities associated with the approach and teaching of contents that stimulate the critical thinking of the student before female vulnerabilities and power relations between the sexes, which can contribute to the reformulation and reorientation of nursing curricula, restraining deficits, and optimizing the potentialities.

Albania’s higher education development is very dynamic. Higher education in Albania is being characterized by a massive expansion process and by competition between both the public and private education sectors. The number of higher education institutions has grown fivefold during the last eight years. There are currently thirteen (13) public and forty six (46) private institutions. This article is aimed at the research of analysing the legal framework for higher education quality state standards. This analysis will address three important issues: 1. What is the legal framework for higher education quality state standards? 2. How is the quality assured in higher education institutions? 3. To what extent are Albanian quality standards compared to the European ones? This study is based on an analysis of the domestic and European legislation, interviews with fifteen (15) key persons that are divided into three groups: officials of the Ministry of Education and Science/Public Agency for the Accreditation of Higher Education, officials of the public Higher Education Institution, and officials of private Higher Education in Albania including reports and policy documents. The conclusions of this research article will help in understanding the role of the higher education quality state standards and will contribute to the improvement of the quality legal framework in the country.
