AbstractCoral reef islands provide precious living space and valuable ecological services for human beings, and its sustainability cannot be ignored under the pressure of human activities. Carrying capacity (CC) assessment has gradually become an important means to measure sustainability of islands. However, there is little comprehensive evaluation of the carrying capacity of coral reef islands, and traditional evaluation methods are difficult to express the social-ecological characteristics of coral reef islands. The present paper proposes a comprehensive assessment model for coral reef island carrying capacity (CORE-CC) which comprises dimensions of resources supply, environmental assimilative, ecosystem services, and socio-economic supporting. According to the characteristics of the coral reef islands, the core factors and indicators of each dimension are selected and the corresponding assessment index system of "pressure-support" is constructed. The assessment involves (1) identification of carrying dimensions and core factors, (2) pressure/support measurement and (3) assessment of carrying state. A case study is conducted in Zhaoshu Island of China, demonstrating the applicability of CORE-CC model and serving as a reference for adaptive management.

In order to achieve the target of that non-fossil energy accounted for 15% in 2020 and 20% in 2030, new energy has developed rapidly in recent years in our country. However, the rapid development of new energy has brought many problems, such as the wind power curtailment, photovoltaic power curtailment, the unbalanced development in different regions and the imperfect policy. Therefore, it is necessary to make a comprehensive evaluation of the development of new energy, as the basis for the policy formulation and planning of new energy. In this paper, according to the characteristics of the new energy development in China, a comprehensive assessment model of new energy development is constructed, a set of assessment index system is proposed, which of the quantitative and qualitative combination, including energy production, energy consumption and policy mechanism from, and combining the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method to determine the weight coefficient. Finally, new energy development in Jiangsu province is taken as an example, the comprehensive evaluation of new energy development situation in 2018 is given.

In order to evaluate rational buoys layout of the route quantitatively, the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is applied to establish a rational buoys layout evaluation model. According to the 9 main factors that affect rational buoys layout, a quantitative assessment model is established. The AHP is used to determine weighted coefficients of assessment index. In the paper, the assessment for the buoys layout of three routes is carried out.

Science assessment to air material suppliers is an effective measure that insures cost controlling and safety operating of an airline. Through analyzing the main factors of the air material suppliers, this paper constructs an assessment index system of the air material suppliers. The weights of assessment indexes is determined by means of the analytical hierarchy process (AHP). A assessment model of air material suppliers based on fuzzy comprehensive theory has also been set up. The model is validated through example. This prove that the method can give an overall comprehensive assessment level of the air material suppliers.

The risk factors of continuous incremental launching bridge during construction stage are specialized. The risk in incremental launching stage is analyzed and identified. A risk assessment index system is built. A fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model is developed. The results obtained from the risk assessment model verifies the validity and practicality of the developed method by the combination of analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy mathematics theory. Moderate risk assessment results are developed to provide references for incremental launching construction method.

The snow disaster is one of the main disasters in prairie pastoral areas of China. Once the snow disaster occurs, it will cause the death of a large amount of livestock due to the starvation and freezing weather. Therefore, it is especially important to forecast the risk of the snow disaster scientifically and reasonably. This paper established the snow disaster risk assessment index system firstly, and then established the snow disaster risk assessment model based on multi-layer fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Finally, the massive experiment monitors and the contrast confirmation with the historical case data, showed that this model is practical and feasible, which conducted a useful attempt to further improve snow disaster risk assessment ability in pastoral areas.

In view of the lack of comprehensive and quantitative evaluation means for transmission network planning currently, a comprehensive assessment index system adapted to the characteristics of the transmission network planning is proposed, including 6 strategic layer indices (safety and reliability, economic efficiency, flexibility and coordination, smart and green, controllable risk and social benefits), 16 target layer indices and 57 operating layer indices. And the assessment standard for each index is determined to provide objective, comprehensive and systematic evaluation of transmission network planning alternatives as well as prepare for realization of the comprehensive evaluation of transmission network planning.

In this paper, power projects overseas investment risk as the research object, starting from the risk assessment and prevention, integrated use of risk theory of knowledge, power projects overseas investment to do a systematic risk identification and analysis. On this basis, the analytic hierarchy process, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of knowledge and econometrics to establish risk assessment model, a comprehensive assessment of power projects overseas investment risks.

Modern power system has been gradually developed into a complex system with the features of multi-level structure, multi-time scale, a variety of control parameters, wide-area, open, uncertainties, non-autonomous and it is difficult to indicate the security level of power system by a single index. Therefore, power system security assessment based on theory of comprehensive assessment is developed rapidly in recent years. However, traditional comprehensive assessment method considers few about the balance of the indices, when there are great differences between the value of the indices, it is easy to take place the phenomenon that the small indices has been “submerged”, which will influence the rationality of the comprehensive evaluation result. In this paper, a comprehensive assessment model which considers the influence of the index balance is established. By introducing the balance coefficient, the model can amend the original judgment matrix and the weight obtained by traditional AHP method. Since the coordinated and balanced situation of the indices have been reflected in the evaluation process, the results of the assessment model proposed in this paper has more scientific nature and more credibility. Finally, an example is provided to validate the model in this paper.
