One-dimensional LaNiO3 nanochains can be generated with high yield by a simple calcination process using La(OH)3/Ni(OH)2 coaxial nanocables as parent template. Those coaxial nanocables can be synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method. The final LaNiO3 ceramics keep the morphology of parent precursor.

In the present work, a novel titanate (H2Ti5O11•3H2O) nanotubes are synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method, and their thermal stability such as the phase transformations and microstructures change are also studied. The as-grown samples are heated in the air at 300-800 °C. The titanate nanotubes will be completely destroyed when the temperatures are above 600 °C, which show that the present titanate nanotubes possess good thermal stabilization. The experiment results reveal that the phase transformations and microstructure changes of present titanate nanotubes follow the process from titanate nanotubes to anatase and rutile TiO2 nanobelts, the Na2Ti6O13 nanwires are formed over 700 °C.

One-dimensional cerium phosphate (CePO4) nanowires (NWs) were successfully synthesized by a facile and simple hydrothermal method at 200°C for 12 h, using Ce(NO3)3·6H2O and Na3PO4·12H2O as starting materials, and followed by pH adjusting to be 1–3 using HNO3 (conc.). Phase, morphologies, and vibration modes of the as-synthesized CePO4 products, characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, and FTIR, were proved to be perfect and uniform monoclinic CePO4 nanowires with aspect ratio of more than 250 for the product synthesized in the solution with the pH of 1. The UV-visible and photoluminescence (PL) spectrometers were used to investigate optical properties of the as-synthesized monoclinic CePO4 nanowires.
