ABSTRACTThe layered structure LixTiS2 and LixCoO2 are excellent reversible cathodes for lithium batteries. However, layered lithium manganese oxides are metastable relative to the spinel form on cycling in lithium batteries. They may be stabilized in the layer form by insertion of larger ions such as potassium in the interlayer region, which minimizes the diffusion of the manganese ions from the MnO2 blocks. Their low conductivity is an impediment to their use in high rate batteries. Cobalt can be doped into the layered alkali manganese dioxides, MxMn1-yCoyO2 for M = K or Na, during the hydrothermal synthesis from the alkali permanganates. A single phase is obtained up to about 5% mole cobalt. The cobalt doping is found to enhance the conductivity by two orders of magnitude relative to pure KxMnO2.

Ferrites have been predicted to be potential material for photo catalytic and photo electrochemical (PEC) hydrogen generation under visible light photons. The article briefly reviews, as well as compares the supremacy of ferrites over titanates and sulfides with respect to their photo-electro catalytic hydrogen producing ability. It shows that though the band energetic of a material plays a vital role to induce the photo-splitting of water; but its optical structure, at the first instance is very important to utilize it to absorb the visible light photons. Among all the PEC materials, the low-band gap ferrites (Fe-d orbital) favor absorption of visible light photons; at the same time offer an advantage of being an eco-friendly material system. A specific focus is given to the single phase, nanostructure and composite forms of typical ZnFe2O4system. Though a concise report, but also throws light on the importance and tunability of PEC properties.

Abstract: This work is part of the interest of solving the problems of water contamination with last generation pollutants, for which a novel and in an aqueous medium FeBTC material incorporated with magnetite nanoparticles was proposed. That material was synthesized by in situ solvothermal method, the Fe3O4 nanoparticles were added during the Fe-BTC MOF synthesis and used in the drug’s adsorption. The materials were characterized by XRD, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, and N2-physisorption at 77 K. Fe3O4-FeBTC material showed a maximum adsorption capacity of 357.1 mg g−1 for diclofenac sodium, 70.9 mg g−1 for naproxen sodium, and 122.9 mg g−1 for Ibuprofen. A pseudo-second-order kinetic model can describe the adsorption process, and the thermodynamic study revealed that the adsorption of the three drugs was a feasible, spontaneous, and exothermic process. The incorporation of magnetite nanoparticles in the FeBTC considerably increased the adsorption capacity of pristine FeBTC. Also, hybridization of the FeBTC with magnetite nanoparticles reinforced the most vulnerable part of the MOF, increasing its thermal and aqueous media stability. The electrostatic interaction, H-bonding, and interactions in the open-metal sites played a vital role in drug adsorption. The competition of sites in the multicomponent mixture's adsorption showed selective adsorption at diclofenac sodium and naproxen sodium.

Phase locked loop (PLL) is a feedback system that has a vital role in the grid-connected inverter systems. The primary function of PLL is to obtain various grid information, such as magnitude, frequency, and phase. That used as the basis for the synchronization process. The primary purpose of this paper is to model and compare the performance SOGI-FLL (Second Order Generalized Integrator - Frequency Locked Loop) With SOGI-PLL, which is a relatively standard PLL. Besides that, this paper also aims to investigate the effect of FLL feedback gain on synchronization performance. Based on the simulation results, the performance of SOGI-FLL in its steady state is superior to that of SOGI-PLL especially for the condition of a single phase power systems that change in frequency.
