A novel core@double-shell acidic nanocatalyst (Fe3O4@SiO2@RF–SO3H) was prepared, characterized and applied in catalytic one-pot condensation between aromatic aldehydes, dimedone, malononitrile, and ammonium acetate for synthesis of hexahydroquinoline derivatives.

Chitosan-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles (Fe3O4@CS) were prepared simply through in situ co-precipitation of Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions via NH4OH in an aqueous solution of chitosan and their catalytic activity was investigated in the synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles by a one-pot condensation of benzil derivatives, aryl aldehydes and ammonium acetate in EtOH.

A series of tetrahydrobenzo[c]acridinone derivatives have been prepared by a one-pot fourcomponent reaction of 1-naphthol, aromatic aldehydes, dimedone, and ammonium acetate in aqueous media using a catalytic amount of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs). The advantages of this novel protocol include the excellent yields, operational simplicity, short reaction time, easy work-up, reusability of the catalyst and an environmentally friendly procedure.

AbstractA method is developed for in situ generation of 1,3-dioxan-5-one derivatives 2. These compounds are simple precursors for accessing carbohydrate structures and previously had to be produced via stepwise procedures using excessive amounts of reagents. In the present work, three different derivatives of 2 were synthesized via the reaction of trialkoxyalkanes with dihydroxyacetone dimer 1 in the presence of acetic acid as the catalyst. In the same pot, derivatives of 2 were reacted with aromatic aldehydes and 30 mol% of pyrrolidine to obtain high yields of the respective bischalcones 3 within short time periods.

AbstractA simple and efficient protocol was established to synthesize thiazolo[3,2-a][1,3,5]triazin-6-ones via three-component one-pot condensation reaction of readily available thioglycolic acid or ethyl thioglycolate, aldehydes or ketones and dicyandiamide in the presence of ammonium acetate. All of the newly synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic analyses.

In this paper the preparation of 3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-9-aryl-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10- decahydroacridin-1,8-dione derivatives from aromatic aldehydes, 5,5-dimethyl-1,3- cyclohexanedione and ammonium acetate in ionic liquids [bmim+][BF4-] is described. This new method has the advantages of easier work-up, milder reaction conditions, high yields and an environmentally benign procedure compared with other methods.

Synthesis of an assembly of structurally importantN-H- andN-substituted acridine-1,8-diones by CAN (ceric ammonium nitrate) catalysed one-pot four-component reaction of electron-deficient and electron-rich aromatic aldehydes and aromatic amines or ammonium acetate and dimedone or cyclohexyl-1,3-diones at 26°C under sonic condition is reported. The method is clean and energy efficient as it uses a greener method and an eco-friendly catalyst.
