The article presents the results of research dedicated to saturated hydrocarbons in the hydrothermal systems of the Russian Far East. The research has revealed significant differences in molecular-mass distribution of alkanes in the hot springs with different temperatures and origin. Alkanes, contained in the most high-temperature fluid from deep wells in Kamchatka peninsula , have the thermogenic genesis. At the same time alkanes, contained in the continental hot springs, are formed as a result of chemical re-synthesis of organic residues. In the least hot waters, as well as in cold underground and surface waters, hydrocarbons with bacterial and vegetable genesis have been revealed.

The fir (Abies gracilis) grove (Kamchatka Peninsula, Kronotsky State Nature Reserve) is a unique area for the northern part of the Russian Far East. As a result of revision of herbarium specimens and literature data a list of lichens of the fir grove was compiled, comprising 55 species. Of them, 27 species are new to the Kronotsky Reserve, 30 are firstly reported for the grove. Altogether 36 lichen epiphytes of Abies gracilis are known.

Two new species in the genus Festuca L. (Poaceae) are described, related to F. altaica Trin.: F. itelmenorum Enustschenko et Prob. (Kamchatka Peninsula, Kronotskii Nature Reserve) and F. kozhevnikovii Enustschenko et Prob. (Amur Region and Republic of Buryatia). Leaf blades of the newly described species as well as of F. altaica from different parts of its distribution range have been studied and illustrated.

A revision of 47 specimens of crustose Teloschistaceae (so-called “Caloplaca s. lat.”) from the Russian Far East in the herbarium LE belonging to 21 species is resulted in re-identification of 18 specimens and new records. Blastenia furfuracea from the Kamchatka Peninsula is new to the Russian Far East. Caloplaca fraudans is new to the Kamchatka Peninsula. Records of Blastenia ferruginea, B. hungarica, Caloplaca haematites and Solitaria chrysophthalma are doubtful for the Far East. Placodium haematites var. ussuriense Tomin [≡ Caloplaca haematites var. ussuriensis (Tomin) Zahlbr.] is lectotypified and synonymized under Caloplaca stillicidiorum s. lat.

A checklist of the Geometridae of the Kamchatka Peninsula and the adjacent islands is presented. A total of 80 species are recorded, and 20 species are omitted as doubtful for the fauna of the territory. One new species and five new subspecies are described (Xanthorhoe okhotinaria Beljaev & Vasilenko sp. n., Xanthorhoe okhotinaria sikhotenaria Beljaev & Vasilenko ssp. n., Dysstroma citratum kamtshadalarium Beljaev & Vasilenko ssp. n., Hydriomena impluviata djakonovi Beljaev ssp. n., Epirrita autumnata smetanini Beljaev ssp. n., Eupithecia kurilensis mironovi Beljaev ssp. n.). One species is recorded as new for the Russian Far East (Kamchatka Peninsula included) (Macaria halituaria [Guenée, 1858]). Two species are recorded as new for the Kamchatka Peninsula: Eupithecia antaggregata Inoue, 1977 and Eupithecia gelidata Möschler, 1860, and three species are recorded as new for the North Kuril Islands (Xanthorhoe derzhavini [Djakonov, 1931], Entephria caesiata [Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775] and Psychophora sabini [Kirby, 1824]). In addition, several species are reported for the first time in neighbouring territories: two species for Magadan Province (Xanthorhoe ferrugata [Clerck, 1759] and Xanthorhoe kamtshatica [Djakonov, 1929]); four species for North Koryakiya (Entephria caesiata [Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775], Eulithis populata [Linnaeus, 1758], Eupithecia gelidata Möschler, 1860, Carsia sororiata [Hübner, 1813]) and three species for Chukotka (Xanthorhoe kamtshatica [Djakonov, 1929], Xanthorhoe derzhavini [Djakonov, 1931] and Rheumaptera hastata [Linnaeus, 1758]).

Three new taxa of red fescues (Festuca aggr. rubra L.) with entirely or partly pseudoviviparous spikelets are described from the Russian Far East (Yevreyskaya Avtonomnaya Oblast’, south of the Amur River) and from the Baikal Siberia (Irkutskaya Oblast’, Baikalo-Lenskii Nature Reserve): F. raddei Enustschenko et Prob., F. breviramea Enustschenko, F. rubrа L. var. caulispicula Enustschenko. In addition, a non-pseudoviviparous new species F. karaginensis Enustschenko et Prob. (also from Festuca aggr. rubra) is described from Karaginskii Island (near the eastern coast of Kamchatka Peninsula).

Subject. The article addresses the tax liabilities of taxpayers registered in the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District, which should be paid to the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation, as well as the factors of the said debt growth. Objectives. Our aim is to assess the level of tax debt of regions of the Russian Far East and identify the correlation between the factors and the amount of tax debt. Methods. The study rests on methods of analysis, generalization, grouping, systematization, and the correlation and regression analysis. Results. We analyzed the level of tax debt for the entire Far Eastern Federal District and by region, identified factors affecting the growth of tax debt therein. The paper assesses the structure of tax debt by type of taxes and activity of debtors. The unveiled factors may help control changes in the size of tax debt in the Russian Far East and develop effective measures to improve the debt collection. Conclusions. The study shows that there is an increase in the tax debt in the regions of the Russian Far East, in the VAT in particular. The factor analysis revealed that the volume of sales of wholesale enterprises, investment in fixed capital, the consumer price index have the largest impact on the amount of tax debt.
