This study aims to reveal gender-based discrimination, forms of gender education, and the importance of gender education in Acehnese families. This study was conducted by using the method of descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation and interview. The result showed that in Acehnese families, the forms of gender-based discrimination that often faced by women are inequality in housework distribution and childcare. In Aceh, most men still play fewer roles in taking care of children because domestic jobs are seen to be women’s’ responsibilities. Another form of gender-based discrimination in Aceh is domestic violence against women. The result also demonstrated that in Acehnese families there is no gender education because many people do not understand the term of gender equality and gender issues are considered as western culture and still taboo to discuss. Gender education in the family is important because children acquire gender stereotypes at an early age, and they learn about gender equality from their family for the first time. Teaching gender equality to children is never too early, and they never too young to learn about it, they would come out and bring the gender equality in the family and society in general as they will be the pioneer or gender equality when they reach adulthood.

Women venturing into building construction workforce in Ibadan Nigeria encounter some form of exploitation and discrimination even though they are considered a major occupational group in this sector. This article examined the determinants of wage differentials in the informal building construction sites in Ibadan. The study adopted patriarchal theory to explain male dominance over women and gender stereotypes which determines the type of job performed at site, thereby creating inequality in wages. Findings revealed that discrimination of women persist at sites. Bricklayers consider gender factor while issuing wages. Men and women-labourers who perform same work at site receive different wages irrespective of similar work being performed. In addition, bricklayers are more satisfied with men-labourers work than women. This paper concludes that at the workplace, the patriarchal nature of the society relegates women to subordinate roles. Policies targeted at eradicating forms of discriminatory practices should be enforced in order to promote women willing to participate in men’s dominated work.

Abstract. This is not a mere descriptive work but a way to denounce another case of violence against women: making them invisible. Women are an overwhelming majority of teaching professionals; however, they do not appear as protagonists of movies about teaching issues rather than as a small minority with extremely stereotypical roles. Bearing in mind that women represent most of the people who work as teachers, we wondered and analysed how they are portrayed in movies. Content analysis show two great fields:1- Teaching post occupied by women teachers.2- Their professional styles (types and qualities in the task of teaching)Among these we have determined categories and explicatory dynamics. Keywords: Film and Gender Stereotypes, Woman professors. Mujeres profesoras.
