It was shown that urbanized territories contribute to the pollution of bottom sediments of a watercourse by the example of a large river. It was established that the places of localization of the infrastructure of oil refineries, even after their transfer, continue to pollute the environment with oil products, with a periodic excess of the maximum permissible concentration of 20 mg·kg-1. The dynamics of the distribution of oil products in the bottom sediments of a watercourse depends on the meandering of the river, the presence of zones of active operation of the fleet and time of year. The smallest concentrations of oil products was observed at the site located upstream from the studied urbanized area adjacent to the city.

The research was carried out during the comprehensive monitoring of the Klyazma reservoir in 2019. The work is devoted to the assessment of long-term environmental changes under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors. The research combines two traditional methods of analysis. A layer-by-layer study of diatomic complexes and chemical composition in the bottom sediments of the reservoir was carried out. The results obtained were compared with the results of comprehensive monitoring on the taxonomic composition of phytoplankton and the chemical composition of water in the reservoir's water area. The results of previous studies on the chemical composition of water in the reservoir were used. In addition to the traditional forms of chemical and hydrobiological analysis, an innovative method of graphical analysis was applied to phytoplankton complexes and the principle of unification of bioindication methods was applied for diatom complexes from sediment columns. The main scenarios of taxonomic proportions transformations in phytoplankton and diatom complexes were determined using the method of graphical analysis for the Klyazma reservoir water area. The transformations are caused by the influence of water from the Moscow channel and the planned annual lowering of the water level in the reservoir. Bottom sediments showed a regular increase in the reservoirs level of saprobisation. Presumably, this is due to a non-linear increase in the number of tourists and an cahnges in recreational load. Pronounced accumulation of Cu, Zn and other heavy metals in the coastal zone of the reservoir was confirmed.

Taeniopteryx araneoides Klápalek, 1902, a stonefly species with brachypterous males, known historically from the Danube, Elbe, and Dniester rivers, but considered to be extinct at least in Europe for more than a century. This species has also been doubtfully reported from Krasnoyarsk, Central Siberia. However, we report this species to be still thriving in the Irtysh River at the cities of Omsk (West Siberia, Russia) and Pavlodar (North Kazakhstan). The occurrence of this species reported least fifty years ago from the Yenisey River at Krasnoyarsk, Russia is considered possible. Unlike the widespread Palaearctic T. nebulosa (Linnaeus, 1758) that occurs in a broad range of stream types, T. araneoides is a potomon species, apparently confined to large rivers. In this habitat, it appears vulnerable to anthropogenic impacts and may be unable to compete with T. nebulosa. The construction of dams and reservoirs has apparently extirpated T. araneoides from most of its former geographical range.
