Three basic types of similar relationship between the prototype and the model for dynamic structural model test and dynamic destructive model test were proposed in corresponding literatures. At the time the situation where various similar relationships are applicable and the technique to ensure similarity for the different goal was discussed. Here the numerical simulation of model test of water-conveyance tunnel concerning fluid-structure interaction in soft soil is studied. Based on economy and practicability of selective material for model test, the similar relationship and the technique are proposed, which are validated through the example. The results of numerical simulation show: under the specific conditions, data of the model test can completely transfer to those of the prototype by use of this type of similar skill, and get more useful information. Some new ideas are introduced to keep the similarity of the hydro-structure structures.

In the operation of the hydropower station, the sudden change of load in the large range often happen, the emergency closing law of turbine guide vane is difficult to control speed-rise and pressure-rise to the extent permitted for the length of pressure pipeline longer and discharge larger. With the development of the surge chamber of alternative technique, the pressure regulating valve is used to reduce the large pressure and speed-rise of the unit in hydraulic transients as the effective measure to saving investments. The layout of water conveyance system and process of hydraulic transients of a certain hydropower in China are analyzed, and the pressure regulating valve is installed in the spiral case inlet to meet the hydraulic regulation calculation guarantee after technical and economic comparison, for the joint action of valve and turbine guide vane, the pipeline water hammer pressure and unit speed-rise are reduced effectively. The pressure regulating valve diameter and opening and closing law in combination with the turbine guide vane are discussed in the power station, as well as the possible problems may be caused by the using of the pressure regulating valve is pointed out in theory. The achievements to scheme decision of adopting the pressure regulating valve to replace the surge chamber in high-head hydropower station with longer pressure water conveyance system can be for reference and provide the certain technological supply.

Since the length-width ratio of large long corridor surge tank is big, longitudinal flow appears obviously, which influences the safety of water diversion system. Based on the water conveyance system of hydropower station with long corridor surge tank, influence of longitudinal fluctuation on hydraulic transients is analyzed, which is contrasted with the results without consideration of longitudinal fluctuation, and corresponding model test is also carried out. It is shown that numerical simulation results, without consideration of longitudinal fluctuation, are more dangerous and those considering longitudinal fluctuation relatively conform to reality. Further more, influence factors on longitudinal fluctuation are studied, the bigger the length-width ratio of surge tank and the lower the operation water level, the severer the longitudinal fluctuation. In order to decrease longitudinal fluctuation, surge tank with small length-width ratio should be designed, and station should be operated on high water level as much as possible.
