Feelings of body dissatisfaction are common in Western society, especially in women and girls. More than innocent discontent, body dissatisfaction can have serious consequences such as depression and eating disorders. The current article discusses the nature of body dissatisfaction, how it develops and how it is currently being treated. We also discuss novel strategies to increase body satisfaction that work on the automatic system (e.g., by retraining attentional and conditioning processes), since recent research suggests that appearance-related information is processed automatically. We suggest that extant methods should be combined with these novel strategies, in order to optimally improve body dissatisfaction and to prevent its detrimental consequences.

Abstract Based on the requirements regarding target, reproducibility, and specimen surface quality, an automatic system for controlled material removal and target preparation has been developed. The tool is for metallographic failure analysis of electric and microelectronic components, and provides an accuracy of 5 micrometer. This article presents details of sample preparation and device evaluation methods. The images presented show typical objects of examination in the analysis of microstructures and materials in the electronics packaging industry with brief comments. For automatically controlled material removal and preparation, the tool offers alignment and measuring of the sample prior to the preparation. The desired preparation layers were achieved precisely and reproducibly with several specimens of the same kind. The automatic preparation system allowed the preparation of critical samples within a short time, with high precision and with excellent reproducibility.

Information-Prediction Automatic System (IPAS) was developed for the Baltic Sea shore within the Kaliningrad District in 2005-2006 years and implemented in the State Organization of the Kaliningrad District "Baltberegozaschita" (coastal management authority) in 2007. It is used as database for shore protection engineering and a tool for analyses and forecasting of coastal processes, and has three blocks - database, forecast block and information-cartographic block. Information-cartographic block regularly accumulates the results of annual monitoring - surveys on shore segments with returning period of 6-7 years using reference system of permanent monitoring bench marks each 500 meters on the Vistula Spit, shore of Sambiya Peninsula and the Curonian Spit. IPAS is regularly used for processing and analysis of data, preparation of analytical notes for the Government of Kaliningrad Oblast and for municipal authorities. Information stored in IPAS was used for development of two programs of actions: "Protection of the shore of the Baltic Sea, the Vistula and Curonian lagoons within the Kaliningrad Oblast for the period 2014-2020 years" and "The concept of integrated development of shore protection in the Kaliningrad Oblast for the period 2013-2020 years". Optimal engineering solutions were recommended by using of the forecast block of IPAS for promenade protection constructions in Zelenogradsk and Svetlogorsk as well as for the project "Construction of beach protection in Svetlogorsk".
